The first issue can be remedied by reading the syllabus of their classes. So many students and parents complain about this, but every syllabus has the date of the final. Storage is handled differently by every college. Ours gives a flat $100 fee for pretty spacious units.

I agree with this statement, as long as the professor does not make the final remote, or optional last minute. It has happened to my DD.

Well yes, that does represent only the majority, as in 90%+, of the United States.
