Which two and how old is your daughter? Two will be on the low side for many, unless she’s really young and the clubs are not competitive. My daughter is older and hasn’t signed up for any yet. She’s going to the clinics and getting a feel for where she wants to tryout for and seeing if she gets any invite clinics. She’s 15. |
14U. Signed up for platform and moco |
Here is a blog post that will answer your question: https://www.mvsavbc.org/news_article/show/1317676 I would suggest no more than one tryout per day. Tryouts are not walks in the park and your DD should be tired / sweaty at the end (otherwise, she likely didn't show the coaches everything she got). Coaches will not be impressed by a player who sends the vibe that she still has the energy for another tryout. If your DD is in a good shape, she might be ale to participate in two tryouts in one day. Make sure to participate in the MOCO fall program if you are serious about MOCO. You might still not make it, but Platform is a good backup. |
Any club will teach your child something about volleyball. At the end of the season you will look back and I guarantee that you will see progress. What really matters is the coach and the team. With a good coach and a more advanced team, your DD will have better quality touches at each practice and she will do better in tournaments. This will result in more progress. With a mediocre coach or a beginner team, the ball will hit the floor more often bot during practice and during tournaments. This will result in less progress. Try to make the best team you can as early as possible because the gaps increase every year. There are clubs that are better than Platform, but the question is whether your DD can make any of them. A beginner at 10U level will have different opportunities than a beginner at the 14U level. You can hope to make a really good club (like MVSA) if you start playing at 10, while you may not have any options better than Platform if you start playing at 14. |
