New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

Loudoun/NVA applied last year as well and got a denial/deferral. Best guess is they kept the legal orgs separate intentionally and will split the baby- MLSN for Loudoun legal org and keep girls in ECNL. ECNL numbers do not lie.

That was pre alliance. I think the alliance makes it to where TSJ or VRSC are the likely candidates.

The boys program is too small at TSJ, it's more likely VRSC since they have an established boys program and GA on the girls side.

I know little to nothing about VRSC. Where do their boys play now? I see 2 boys teams in EDP/usys. Where are the rest? How is this MLSN worthy?

Sorry, PP here, correcting myself. See teams in USYS NL , but arguably with less success than 80% of the other local teams in league

Never said it was MLSN worthy just more established than the TSJ boys program.

When were rumors floating around last year??

Last year around this time there was a X/Twitter person saying that he was confident that X number of clubs were switching from GA to ECNL. The number would change week to week. In the end they were kind of correct. But, I don't know if this nostradamus had inside info or was just playing the odds.

This year much more is at play now that MLS Next is involved. I doubt any "normal" people have inside track info because it would need to be coming from both the boys and girls sides.

Yup. And that account seems to be connected to the girls side only. So it makes sense that no one knows yet.

I feel like everyone is just waiting around for something to drop.

Guess Richmond Kickers will drop the first announcement and that will kick things off.

What would VDA announce? Are all the clubs trying to use the same playbook of using their partner clubs to carry ECNL and use the combined org to carry MLS Next/GA?

Interesting note here…

Is that what’s happening? Maybe that’s been the reason for all of the partnerships here?

Anyone think that GA will expand to invite any MLS club's girls teams?

as someone somewhat new to all of this, the issues people are talking about is that on the boys side MLS Next is the top league and ECNL is 2nd tier, and on the girls side ECNL is top and GA is 2nd tier (ok, maybe 1.5) and the leagues do not like having clubs having boys teams in MLS Next and girls teams in ECNL?
