Second Gentleman scandal

Sounds like a nothingburger. Biden’s team were aware of this in 2020.

True, Nannies do love kids. You know who wasn’t so keen to have a baby? DonOld. He wanted to have Tiffany aborted.

“When Donald Trump learned that then-girlfriend Marla Maples was pregnant with Tiffany, Trump said, "Excuse me, what happened?" and "Oh, great"—the latest bombshell revelation contained in 15 hours of tapes from The Howard Stern Show released this week to Newsweek and Factba.se.

"I'm glad it happened. I have a great little daughter, Tiffany," Trump told his pal Stern in the 2004 interview. "But, you know, at the time it was like, 'Excuse me, what happened?' And then I said, 'Well, what are we going to do about this?' [Marla] said, 'Are you serious? It's the most beautiful day of our lives.' I said, 'Oh, great.'"

Typical of his intelligence that he could not figure out how it had happened!

I tend to believe this isn’t a surprise to anybody.

The timing here is fantastic: a sleepy Saturday in August, sandwiched right between Biden’s triumph and the VP pick announcement.

Are the Democrats actually doing this? Are they actually being SMART? Is this really happening???

Studies consistently conclude that cheating is done by 15 to 25% of men, 10 to 15% of women, but some studies show higher or lower rates, and apparently 40% of men over 65 admit to having cheated at some point in their lives.

I would like to know, when they say 15 to 25% of men, do they mean currently or ever? because I assume that some men start cheating from the start and continue as long as they are married, some might not until much later in life, and this says nothing about the length of those marriages.

Regardless, the reported rates apparently don't change much. Hard to say something is gross or a scandal when the behavior is that common.

But according to a Utah researcher, adultery was much more tolerated 50 years ago than now. Expectations of marriage are much higher (while fewer people actually get married). It's easier to leave an unsatisfactory marriage (although, contrary to what JD Vance seems to think, divorce rates are a lot lower now than they were during their peak).

Sleeping around with your kids teacher is pretty low. At least find someone unknown to the family!

No. It’s called a power imbalance, which he exploited. Her livelihood and career at that point depended on this man — who was also a wealthy and powerful lawyer. He is sick.

I read that she was a teacher at his daughter’s school who moonlighted as a nanny for the family. I think she was also in her 30s.

Broke teacher / nanny gets knocked up by millionaire lawyer boss and aborts it? No chance.

We feel sorry for her that her husband humiliated her by cheating on her, but she chose to stay with him and extort more
Money from him.

Exactly how else did we excoriate her or use Melania’s actions as a means to undermine trump. There is so much material on Trump it would be really hard to fit the actions of his wife in there.

You think an action of Harris’s husband should or will derail her campaign?

You all are desperate and nuts. It is completely pathetic.

Re: Melania - oh what a selective memory you have. “Soft porn star, escort” and much worse ring any bells? You can stop your blatant hypocrisy any time now.

This wasn’t really related to his election though and generally his trashiness.

Do continue to split hairs. The point - which you continue to miss - is that Democrats have made it crystal clear family members are fair game for criticism, mockery, scorn, and just plain entertainment. Enjoy!

Yeah, I have no issue with that. He cheated on his wife. Feel free to “scorn.” Kamala is going to kick Trump’s a** and this whole story didn’t even register with my super square socially conservative parents. Like a man being a dog, what’s new.

What does that mean? Paid for an abortion? Paid off the mother?

Sounds like she had the kid. So I’d assume an NDA and multi-million settlement.

Wrong. There is no Doug Emhoff love child out there. Keep up.

Are you saying the child was aborted — presumably he pressured her to do so? That’s troubling.
What’s troubling is you presuming that this woman didn’t make her own decision.

The gossip mill says maybe.

None of the rest of the world cares.

I care. The first guy sounds like a loose cannon sex pest who can be blackmailed and extorted. .

How can he be blackmailed now that it's all out?

He’s a creepy sex pest. You think this is the only time in his life he’s had poor judgment and low impulse around women? You think this is the only skeleton in his Hollyweird closet?

I'd like to know what exactly a blackmailer can get out of him. He's just the spouse of the VP and possibly the President. Is he going to sneak into the SCIF and make off with top secret documents?

The dossier on this creep is prob a mile long.

It really makes you think about the consequences of electing someone with all that baggage. Though I don't really need to think about that since it already happened, except much worse, and it completely sucked.

Even if adultery would be a deal-breaker for me voting for someone really. What's the alternative?.... Kamala did not have the affair so I don't understand what the issue is here

That was not the question. Let's say for the sake of argument that this is not the only time he cheated on his ex-wife. Let's say that he cheated on her 200 times. What exactly can someone blackmail out of him? Like what can they reasonably expect him to get them?

Nothing. He isn't the VP, he doesn't get classified briefings and has no impact on policy making or decision making.

Trump, on the other hand...

Boy, this Emhoff "scandal" really makes you think about what a bad idea it is to elect Trump again.
