God bless those Satanists. |
LMAO what a bunch of BS. YOUR COMPREHENSION is what was faulty, everyone here knows it, and now you want to run away. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Are they the same as free masons? |
I think they ought to put up the beatitudes. Much better for morals. |
Putting up useless posters won’t do anything to help the youth of Louisiana. If the politicians and Christians of Louisiana really cared they’d go out into the communities that need the most help, like Jesus did, and sit and talk with these kids. Meet them where they’re at. Directly invest in them and their families, help build them up to be better. That would be far more powerful than useless wastes of paper and ink that no one will read.
Drug dealers and gangs have no problem recruiting people into their orgs. Know why? Bc they go out into the community, where the people they need are. They talk to the people, take care of them in ways that matter to those people ($$$$$). In turn, they get respect and a constant stream of new recruits. And the recruits know the rules and commandments of the game! Lol no posters needed. |
This should come as no surprise and will happen in other states as well. Yes, one of the founding principles of this country is religious freedom. But like those counties turning hard right in Europe today it was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.
Come legally and through proper channels to America or any other country, keep your traditions but work to assimilate and become part of the larger culture and all will be fine as it has been for hundreds of years. Come and try to make your culture the dominant culture and people will be patient and polite at first, but they will start to explain in subtle and sometime not so subtle ways that, that is simply not going to happen. We see it in the recent elections in Europe and may or may not see it in the US in November. It will start small and many will say in stupid ways like posting the 10 commandments, but it will happen. These are turbulent times, ones that future generations will study and as always the victor will write that history. Can only wonder what those stories will be. |
Are you talking about the Christofacists trying to force their culture on the majority? |
I was born here. I'm as legal as can be. I just don't happen to follow a Judeo-Christian religion. |
No I am not running away. I am just not going to jam up the thread repeating the same fact about your post, as I stand by what it says and encourage anyone interested to simply read the thread. |
Despite the careful deliberations of the founders of the US, the Christian right will continue to make the US a Christian nation. Thanks for explaining it. |
Much ado about nothing. So a copy of the ten commandments will be in classrooms- what is the harm? None. It is ridiculous to be upset about this. |
It's not just in the classrooms. It's displayed prominently on the wall, with a "large, easily readable font." These kids' government-funded education is elevating certain religions above others. If it's such a minor thing as you claim it is, then it should be fine for each teacher to decide whether or not they want it on their wall. But that's not what is happening here. |
Should have the pledge of allegiance right next to it. |
The government doesn’t have any money. The government has a system that taxes us, and they use our money to pay for things. Taxpayers are paying for the education of their communities’ children. Nobody is making the kids read or believe the 10 commandments. The kids won’t receive any penalties or punishment if they don’t believe or read the poster. The kids will all receive the same education and treatment in classroom. Our government can’t establish a state religion, and it’s not. Teachers choose almost nothing they do in their classrooms, every bit of curriculum is mandated. You must not know any teachers. They are just trying to get through the day. It’s of no importance, except to culture war obsessed people. |
Our school says the pledge and then we bow our heads for a moment of silence every morning. |
