So I like the album - more so the songs on Anthology.

Favorites - So Long London, Albatross, Peter and Florida so far

There’s not a ton for the younger kids, my 9 year old asked me to buy another Taylor’s version after listening to it. She did like Albatross.

I don’t care about the second release - it’s 3- songs for 29 bucks. Whatever.

I enjoy taylor’s music. poets has taken me a few listens to get into but i’m there now. my favorites are peter, the black dog, loml, the manuscript, so long london and chloe or sam or sophia or marcus (such a random title).

this is a solid album. she is an extremely talented artist.
it is sad that her long term relationship didn’t work out and i hope she is able to find the kind if love she’s been looking for.

It’s the capitalization of KIM that feels juvenile to me. Could’ve let fans guess instead. Reminds me of when she left hidden messages in liner notes back when she was a teenager.

Agreed. Not only do the songs sound the same but they sound similar to other albums. Lyrically the album is solid but the production is boring, though the Dessner tracks are superior to the Antonoff ones.

I agree with this. trashing ex boyfriends was cute when she was college aged and established older actors like Jake gylenhaal and John Mayer were taking gross advantage of a 20 year old, but now it’s 15 years later and she’s still doing the same shtick of very clearly airing dirty laundry and throwing her ex boyfriends - some of whom were serious relationships - under the bus. Doing this every six months in her mid thirties strikes me as juvenile and emotionally stunted. It’s like she’s addicted to the break ups/relationships for the content and I think it’s super weird.

I believe Jessica Simpson said same about John Mayer

I think you underestimate the damage the whole thing did to her psyche and the trauma it caused. I can somewhat relate but in a different way. It changed her forever.

I LOVE the album but I agree it’s going to be a miss for my 10 year old - it just doesn’t have the upbeat pop songs the kids prefer (which is fine). My 14 year old Florence and the Machine fan will love Florida!!! and thats probably it. But I really do love the album. The rest of her entire catalog can cater to the younger audiences.

I was not a fan before (though I didn’t hate on her at all!) - but I listened to a few songs earlier & I really like her songwriting skills.
Her lyrics are phenomenal on this one.

Also her voice sounds good.
Plus I love the way she takes aim at Kim Kardashian.

Kim certainly deserves it after defending her sick husband all those years back. 🐍

As for the Vinyl purchasers I say purchase at your own risk. Also the 3 exclusive songs were always going to be on Spotify eventually anyway.

I ordered the vinyl for my daughter as soon as TOD was announced and she tells me that we won’t get Anthology with it. Ugh.

She is not a particularly talented singer but she has managed to become very talented in writing breakup songs that appeal to teens. She has surrounded her herself with a good team and has parents with connection and money and the willingness to back her.

Fame and fortune is a bit random. It isn't directly connected to skill or talent or even effort. Most of it is luck plus having the right people around you and the money and connections to make it happen. If you look back over history, this is nothing new.

She is the Kardashian of music. Kind of why she fights with them so much. They both created products that sold and had the people around them to make it all happen.
