We are where we are because a judge ruled Callie and that other woman can legally publish private medical records. There is no benefit to the public by making these private medical records public.

Callie is a horrible person for doing this and it’s insane we need to legislate common sense. But here we are.

Not true. What she did was criminal.

Nope. That is not what the court ruling said.

Cite the ruling, otherwise you’re lying.

Now you cite the judge’s ruling that this woman is a criminal.

DP: Doesn't have an iota to do with how she will do in a civil class action suit though. I don't even think it will be that hard. Parents against her about what she did after she got the data.

Most parents are more mad at fcps. It’s the political ops that roam this site that are looking past that and wanting to go after Callie. Don’t believe the hype.

DP. I’m more mad at the POSs like Asra & friends who are causing so much discourse and wasting FCPS resources.

+1

She will get crushed in a civil case.

Nope. The case will get crushed in summary judgment.

Or maybe they are like me--a parent who is pissed that some random woman took my kid's data and shared it with others. I know, sounds unbelievable, right???

Why? She knew she had private, protected information. She openly recognizes that it was sensitive information. She shared it without consent.
How will that get crushed?

Reading is fundamental. FOIA aint FERPA, and that judges ruling has absolutely nothing to do with the current subject matter.

I'm with you. I don't know if it's criminal but it sure is a big a$$hole attention grabbing stunt. I'm a Fed and we have legally binding agreements that have to be signed by both parties before PII can be shared. Otherwise, the Fed. Gov't. can be held liable for the data breach. Do state govts. also have these agreements? If not, then why couldn't both FCPS and Callie be sued. FCPS staff who did this are just inept, but she's another level of spiteful. Do you think she'll spin this somehow to make herself a martyr...like any legal problems she has will have been worth it to expose FCPS to the rest of us??? She could have done that without taking a peek at the info and raising a huge stink. I don't want help from people like her. MYOB Callie.

She also can't say she didn't know because she posted openly that she knew this was private info. Yet she looked at it and shared it with others. Someone had to do all that redacting. It's not like they won't be able to reconfigure who all accessed it and worked with it.

BUT she thinks she's absolved because it's to "save" us all from FCPS, for the greater good, and oh she redacted it.

Who do you think keeps requesting all of this info from FCPS in the first place? These nuts with an agenda. They DGAF about the students or families impacted.

I don’t understand why you think you can speak on behalf of most parents. Everyone I know is upset with FCPS but absolutely livid at Callie. She intentionally harmed kids for her own never-ending plot against FCPS. I feel so bad for the principal and teachers for her kids.

NP, the analogy isn't perfect but it isn't -that- bad either. Basically manslaughter is killing with some degree of negligence but not intent, murder is killing with intent. Replace "killing" with "disclosing sensitive data" and the analogy regarding intent basically holds, the only difference being Callie redacted some of the PII in her disclosure (as I understand it). That's an important distinction if the redaction was done properly and thoroughly and why the analogy isn't perfect, but the intentional vs. non-intentional distinction the PP was focusing their analogy on is also really important.

She is spinning it on one particular FB group saying she did not know she was copying the info of 35K other kids and that she “did not keep all the information” related to other kids.” …and of course there is another crony of hers backing up her integrity and intent.

Oh please. As if. 🙄

No. It’s terrible. Comparing what she did to murder?
