This is demented. I can use the same logic to rob you of anything.

It is none of your business what I wear. I have the right to be safe to wear the most expensive or cheapest cloth.

Advertising one’s privilege is pretty tacky. Why make yourself a target by antagonizing those not as lucky as you?

Come on, people have cell phones. People have nice belts and coats and shoes. It’s not like it’s a $100k diamond ring or something - regular working people can save up for a Canada Goose jacket if that’s what they really want. People are getting carjacked if they drive a regular car like a Hyundai or a Honda, or a luxury car. Our city shouldn’t be this dangerous.

However given the vast inequality in wealth distribution it’s simply not appropriate to show off one’s material privilege.

If anything, only reason people should think twice about what they wear is because DC has opted to behave as third world city.

Third World?
Your ignorance is evident in the use of this phrase.

Sorry the comparison offends third world cities?

The legacy of dehumanization (and the effects flowing from it) stay with us to this day. It is a testament to human resilience and endurance that the violent "critical mass", as you put it, is as small as it is.

And I am not trying to excuse violent criminals. The leftist progressive policies of DC have been a disaster. Violent people need to be confined, and we need better rehabilitation. But don't blame one group of people without recognizing the unique and horrific treatment of that group within the context of American history.

One important point people seem to forget is that a huge number of law abiding Blacks are the victims of crime that leftist progressive policies (and useless DC politicians) have enabled.

It’s not all the blacks. It’s a small minority of them making the lives of everyone else a living hell. It’s the excuses 500 years later. It’s the lack of 2 parent households. Single moms trying to do everything and have to work so they can’t parent. It’s the schools and the parents who allow full days of disrespect and disruption instead of the education they need to learn how to be productive members our society. It’s the reforming curricula to teach blacks to hate their own neighbors so they can form a loyal voting block instead of atp focusing on the shared history, how everyone worked together to end slavery and segregation, the civil rights act. It’s the perfect crab boil trapping the innocent blacks and holding them back.

Foreign blacks don’t have these issues and if you notice they tend to separate almost completely from the American blacks and they are thriving. The American blacks, the culture is poisoned

It’s also racism at work in that there is no way, if young white men were committing crimes against white communities at this rate, it would be allowed to continued. But because it is largely blacks targeting blacks we turn a blind eye. The national guard needs to be deployed to areas that are essentially written off thus putting 95 percent of the population at the mercy of 5 percent. We have essentially left large areas of our cities to fend for themselves.

Karl Racine, born in Haiti, has played both sides for his own benefit.

This. The DCPS curriculum is one of victimhood, not triumph. It’s incredibly damaging and dangerous to young AA kids.

Absolutely. Even Rev Al Sharpton dismisses those he calls “latte liberals” for misunderstanding the real concerns of real communities.

Daily murders and people here are tone policing phrases. Brilliant.

At this point, speech is about the only thing leftists are actually willing to police…

Most progressives are critical theorists so they view the poor as oppressed. To them, street crime is justice. That's why this won't be solved as long as leftists are in charge. We need good moderate liberals and conservatives to come in and implement solutions that work in the real world, not just the world of make-believe that progressives live in.

You are wrong. I am a progressive that believes that the poor are clearly oppressed in our society. The flaw in your nasty assumption is that I don’t think these kids are criminals because they are poor. Poor people are not “more criminal” in nature than wealthy people. You are not a serious person and would rather tilt at windmills than discuss these issues reasonably.
You've clearly never been poor. I have and poor people are far more prone to criminal activity than middle and upper class folks. Any crime map or crime statistics will tell you this. As a progressive, you are living in the land of make-believe where "data is white supremacy" so you're not allowed to use it. So you are incapable of solving this issue.

Problems never get solved because a big % of truth is off limits to progressive academics & policy makers. They can only print conclusions that involve white conservatives being evil.

The Chicago mayor’s speech a few days ago was a perfect example. He blamed his city’s migrant problem on Right Wingers.

Chicago's illegal immigration problem is a right wing created problem. The vast majority of those immigrants would be in Texas if it were not for the right wing.

Do you hear yourself? they would be in Central America if not for Biden's policies. Texas should not have the bear that burden. Spread it around.

This is what happens when you have a segment of society with most of the wealth, and another segment with very little wealth. It breeds crime.

Just look at the most dangerous cities/countries in the world. They all have this dynamic. Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, USA, etc… Oh and it’s not a coincidence that there is a racial component to this issue. This is what happens when those holding all the wealth prevent racial minorities from also gaining wealth. This problem will not be solved over night.

The economy is going gangbusters, with the greatest improvements at the bottom. Some people just want to be criminals.
