See? They want their entrenched power. |
And yet it was the democrats who routinely support IRV. GOP routinely opposes it.
(and I have no idea why the DC Election Commission is opposing it since most voters in DC, a democratic city, support it) |
I've had this same experience |
Because of the shifting racial demographics in the District, plus the change in policies that come from those shifts. Moving to IRV will likely mean the division of the African-American voting bloc, more white Democrats elected to office, and likely more "moderate" policies. Lots of the current policy positions of the DC government are focused on dealing with African-American poverty. That will likely change with the introduction of IRV. The current DC Democrats have been able to hold off IRV by being relatively good fiscal stewards of the District. But a rise in crime or a big hike in taxes will likely force a change. |
There’s most Americans on one side and partisans from both major parties on the other. |
Then "most Americans" will have to choose the future of our republic, because if Trump wins, it will likely end what we have known for the past 250 years. |
In 2024, candidates better have a "pro choice" label or they can kiss swing state success good bye. 2024 will be about the opposite of no labels. Take a stand for women's rights or lose. |
Im more interested in the Forward party that the No Labels party. |
I like that! Sounds progressive and inclusive. |
Founded by Andrew Yang and others. |
For more info on the Forward Party (which I believe is better than No Labels), see https://home.forwardparty.com/faq As for any third party being a spoiler they say this “The system is already spoiled. Over 70% of elected positions have only one candidate competing for them, and the two major parties have shut out competition. We’ll fix that by bringing choice back to the American people, including through electoral reforms like ranked-choice voting and open primaries.” |
Vote for Forward Party puts Trump in office. May as well be the Leopards Eating Faces Party. |
+1 What progress do you FoRwArD voters think you’ll get from them, RFK Jr or No Labels? |
Joel Searby, Forward's National Director, said that the party does not plan on taking positions on controversial issues such as guns and abortion; instead they will leave those issues up to candidates and state and local chapters to decide. So they won't take position on critical controversial issues that matter greatly to the people of this country that will drive the outcome of the next election. Why waste time with such weakness and lack of courage? |
You clearly have not read their plan. Keep eating your face. |
