And, if Ford lied can she be prosecuted? Because I believe that is much more likely.

Ford clearly lied. I watched her testimony and she showed all signs of lying.

Are you a forensic psychiatrist? If so I’d love to hear more. If not then you are a fool for posting this.

Cute.

No, I'm not a "forensic psychiatrist" but someone trained in a much more relevant discipline.

Ford was clearly lying. She was making things up about her lie-detector test -- it was obvious.

I’m very interested in what that relevant discipline is and what signs you saw.

Won't share the discipline but here is something that was a red flag to me and colleagues.

At some point Ford said that she had taken a lie detector test the very same day her grandma (or mother?) had died. The interviewer then interrupted to doublecheck if that was the case, because you should never take such a test in such an emotional moment, it screws the baseline and the results.

Ford realized that her previous testimony made no sense and improvised something like "Uh I'm not sure, might have been a day before or after the funeral"

Which makes even less sense. Attending your grandma's funeral is one of those moments you remember vividly, and if you took a lie detector test in some office that same day you'd remember it. And if you say it was that day you don't just make things up and then say it might have been a day before or later.

My brother died when I was 28. I went to his funeral and I do know the month but have no idea of the actual date.

You probably also think that Anita Hill lied

It's not about the actual date. You would remember if you did something else major the same day.

Exactly. Especially if it happened less than a year ago and you had spent weeks training your testimony with multiple lawyers (all helpfully provided by the Democratic Party).

Ford was an obvious fraud.

Even with her trained testimony she came off as being unhinged. She was a hot mess and had a crazed look in her eyes. Definitely not a credible witness to everyone except hard core dems.

Yes BK did come across as unhinged. Dod you see all those faces he made? Way too emotional and overly dramatic. Clearly staged. He is such a liar.

I'm going to accuse you of sexual assault. I expect you to remain calm and poised while I do so, televised in front of millions, even if you know you're innocent. Let's see how that goes.
DP

I can think of quite a few instances where similar situations happened where someone was accused, rightly, or wrongly, and did not become as unhinged over it as Kavanaugh did.

Really? Similar situation as in, was falsely accused and then had to immediately be televised while refuting said allegations? Do tell. Examples please.

Sociopaths are very good at keeping calm in situations such as this. They are practiced. Ted Bundy was able to sit on a rape hotline and discuss his own murders with a detective friend he met there.

Yes. Which is why Kavanaugh very clearly is no sociopath. He reacted the way any human being falsely accused would act. Upset.

He acted the way my ex did when I accused him of having an affair. How DARE I accuse him???

Of course, he was cheating the whole time.

Kavanaugh's anger could have been based more in "who the heck do you think you are to question ME, accuse ME, interefere in my appointment, publicly humiliate ME? And not in whether or not Ford's accusastions happened.

I remember Bill Clinton seemed pretty angry about being accused on ML. We all know how that turned out.

Sorry, but if you falsely accuse me of sexual assault (or anything), I'm going to be very upset and have no problem showing it. Especially if I have to defend myself in front of the entire world.

Kavanaugh's behavior was not that of a mature adult. Especially during what was a job interview. He demonstrated himself to be completely unfit to serve. It seems you would not be a candidate I'd want to hire, either.

I'm wondering how many times you've repeated exactly the same words. As for your last sentence, right back atcha.

And she’s not even the point of Brett Kavanaugh. The point is that he is unfit for the bench in temperament and in his total and complete lack of honor. The other point is that the GOP is corrupt and corrupts everything they touch. They are unfit.

Ahem I'm reading much from loser Dems on this thread.

We have a great SCOTUS in place.

+1
And it's Democrats who would love for SCOTUS to act as their own personal legislature.

Perfect example of how every GOP accusation is a confession.

It is the GOP and its supporters who have put in place the most activist, most illegitimate Supreme Court.

We see right through you. And you don't like it. You want us all to be as gullible as your supporters.

Nope. Democrats would love nothing more than their own personal SCOTUS, used to rubberstamp liberal legislation. Hint: that's not the purpose of SCOTUS. It exists to determine whether laws are constitutional or not - it does not make laws. And it certainly isn't a wing of the Democratic party. Sorry to disappoint.
DP

Oh that’s right only republicans get their group of personal SCOTUS to rubber stamp their radical policies.

Sorry, sending something back to the states to decide because it's not covered in the Constitution is hardly "rubber stamping" anything... but do go on.

It does. Especially when every right wing hack lied about what they’d do. “Settled law,” they said. “Respecting precedent,” they said.

They lied, POSs cover for them now.

Your "nope" is meaningless in the face of the reality of what this SCOTUS is doing.

This SCOTUS is BS; just there to be activist judges for the GOP. They are stomping all over precedent in order to rubberstamp the awful policies of the GOP.

Every accusation is a confession.

Not about to download some app just so I can have the delight of reading far-left "Raw Story."

LEFT BIAS
These media sources are moderate to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Overall, we rate Raw Story Left Biased based on story selection that favors the left and Mixed for factual reporting due to half-true, false, and unproven claims, as well as the promotion of mild pseudoscience misinformation.

An activist right-wing Supreme Court would declare the unborn to be deserving of 14th amendment rights and require states to ban abortion.

That says more about you, frankly. I've known a million Brett Kavanaughs and they always get away with their BS.

As for him, he should have been DQ's on the basis of his lack of temperment for the job and his throwing out conspiracy theories. He exhibited no proper judicial disposition and bias. That should have nixed him from the get go. How many of us can cry, declare a love of beer, and throw around accusations of political conspiracy in a job interview and expect to get it? He lied. He's a liar. And he is unfit for the position by virtue of his own actions during the confirmation.

This. They are trampling every norm and all well-settled precedent (Roe was confirmed several times over, even by Republicans). They are shi--ing on the institution and the constitution. They are not longer a respected or legitimate institution. Period. Every one of those GOP appointed justices said that Roe was settled, because it was. Then they tossed it at the first opportunity. They lied. They perjured themselves.

As a nation we weren’t even given the favor of a real investigation.
