Virginia couple sued by Afghan refugees of crazy scheme to kidnap their baby

Good. The Masts are no more than disgusting kidnappers. I'd also like to see some high-profile reporting on why disciplinary action has not been taken against Joshua Mast for his clear misuse of his military position.

DoD and State department said no. Baby was eventually placed with its first cousin who is a married adult and that couple raised it for a year. Joshua Mast stayed in touch with this couple.

In the US, in Fluvanna County, Virginia the Masts sued in local court to petition to adopt the baby and become its guardian which both were granted. When chaos in Afghanistan ensued last summer with the Taliban taking control Josh Mast convinced the couple to come to the US with the baby and helped them make arrangements. They flew into Dulles where Mast and a social worker met them when the couple was informed the baby no belonged to the Masts and Joshua took it. The Afghan couple has not seen the baby since.

It is unclear if the Masts are in Palymra or NC now but the lawsuit is finally coming out in the media. It is incredible. Human trafficking, kidnapping, etc. There are several articles online re this. Even Foxnews reported it in a less than flattering tone towards the Mast. Here is just the one from WaPo.

Ok I am on page 1 but I have a sneaky suspicion that the couple made an arrangement with Mast and he just didn’t pay enough OR they think they can get more money out of a lawsuit than he paid them.

He's sickening. The gaslighting in the interview is so apparent. (Mast is also a lawyer if you haven't been following)M They had 4 kids already. All boys. 1,000% they wanted a baby girl & weren't going to spin the wheel one more time and risk another boy. All they had to do to get that baby girl was use every connection & bend every rule to effectively steal someone's child.

After this little girl is reunited with her family, the Masts need to be sent to jail for kidnapping and fraud, and their children adopted out to more appropriate homes.

I doubt the family got paid. A 3rd party may have helped them and they paid that person but we had a similar situation like this in our family but the judge let the other family get away with it. We are pretty sure they paid off multiple people. Sadly this happens more than people realize. Its sick. That little girl needs to be returned but more than likely they will get to keep her as the court will say she is bonded to them.

Masts lost in court and adoption is voided, child is no longer theirs
The kid is 4 years old now
Masts now have temporary custody
