All they’re really doing is hurting their beneficiaries, because now I won’t be donating to anyone through them, regardless of cause.

Its kind of sad so many people still think you can use the tools of the system to challenge the system. They probably still think they have Constitutional rights or that the police are there to protect them.

GFM really messed this one up. It not only froze the account with 9 million in it but announced that donors would have to file a form for a refund by Feb. 23 to get their money back. GFM said it would donate any money not claimed by then to charities of its choosing.

The uproar temporarily shut down the GFM profile on Trustpilot Pilot as donors bombarded the site with GFM complaints. Internet posters urged donors to call their credit card companies or PayPal to dispute the charge for their donation; this would result in a chargeback to GFM at $15 a pop.

At 2 am this morning GFM released a statement that said, "due to donor feedback, we are simplifying the process and automatically refunding donations."

They could have done this at the outset, but I guess the irony of using the trucker funds to fund charities whose views align more with GFM management and owners than with the trucker supporters was just too delicious for GFM to pass up.

I am another who will never donate to another cause on this platform. Too bad, because we have contributed to some very worthy causes in the past.

Most of them are not Canadian and not truckers. Our truckers are 80 percent vaccinated and a large portion of them are visible minorities.
This "protest" is led by American white supremacists and funded by Trump, DeVos and the like.

If Trudeau had the choice between caving in on the mandates or having his government toppled, which would he choose? I’m not sure what is so important about getting the last 10% vaccinated now that omicron seems to have run its course. Unless this is all about demonstrating the limits of government authority…in which case dissent must be crushed at all costs.
