What is Shelby Samperton’s lacrosse coaching background?

Buyers remorse?

I believe SW was very $$$. Maybe she had an additional position as well? Doubt Visi willing to pay that much. Maret has no talent and no real program to speak of. Bottom of ISL A most years. Last coach tried but got no traction. SW may be able to get some. If she can’t, no one can. Maret is very small though and tends to be basketball oriented - only 5 players needed. Guessing it is just not big enough to put together a successful lax team.

MC Elite.

Assuming she wants to put her son in private school, Maret is an option eventually, but not so much with Visi.

With no GC at St. James this winter, PVI came in at the top of the WCAC teams in the top HS Girls division. They had a good winter.

What happened to St Johns? They didn’t do at all well. Thought they had a bunch of top D1 players. What happened?

GC is playing at Goals with the Baltimore-area teams.

They certainly do have a couple talented D1 commits. As do most other teams in the division - each of the teams has about 2 - 6 “top - 20 level” commits/future commits. Looking at the final standings, it pretty much corresponds with the depth of the teams’ rosters. Week to week, teams were impacted by Covid/camps/double headers, but the season standings finished up about as predicted.

SJC1 had a crew of 8th graders playing with them most games for scouting purposes. Seniors also split time between two indoor teams. SJC1 had a lot of starters out due to injuries, competing sports, recruiting camps and commitment camps. Still came within 1 of BI and 2 of PVI. They’ll have a good team if they can stay healthy.

I wouldn't read too much into indoor games. Previous poster is right, week to week teams are often missing key players. Some split their rosters up for playing time purposes as the goal is to get better not win (News flash, St James doesn't give trophies...). No one is practicing either, so I wouldn't put stock into any one week result. Now I do think that some of the top teams in indoor will be the top this Spring (looking at you SR) based on their overall talent pool, but I don't think you can compare them apples to apples w/ indoor results given the reasons above and also style of play (no draws - hurts a team like SJC with strong middies).

The SR v. visi game was quite close yesterday too, so it could be interesting spring.

SR will be a substantially different team in 4 weeks. They will own the DMV and ISL this year with Visi, SJC, SSSAS and Bullis chasing them fighting to stay out of the bottom.

Visi played well. Immediately before the game, SR beat Saints 13-8 so likely a bit tired. Visi has a good first 8-9 girls. Their challenge will be full field and playing against teams with more depth.

Bullis? Why mention them? They aren’t and have never been even close to a top team. Were in the ISL lower division only 2-3 seasons ago. They were beat soundly by several teams in indoor and with their D1 committs playing. Bullis is not part of the conversation of top teams.
