Who says the opposition to CRT-driven pedagogy hasn’t resonated? The majority of Americans now oppose it. Of course that probably will lead the current FCPS School Board to double down on it. |

According to who…Daily Wire?

So, what is the purpose of those pictures? |
| God, these kids are getting Lucy Calkins, no five-paragraph essay practice, no grammar, spelling or vocabulary, no book reports, no presentation skills or public speaking practice, plus this trash. Lost generation indeed. |
As with any graphic novel, the illustrations are a form of visual storytelling. The book Gender Queer is a story of someone sharing their journey of their self-identity. Some part of that is sexual. BS. My FCPS kids are in ES and have gotten all of the above skills. |

Have you all forgotten Judy Blume??
You sound just like the nutty helicopter parents of the 70's. |
Don't worry, they can't read it. |
Really? Every graphic novel prominently features same-sex blow jobs? |
Get a grip. You sound exhausting. No one has been harmed by these book and the only disturbed people are a group of overprotective parents. |
On the flip side, I was sexually abused as a child and had no words for it and thought I was completely alone, a freak. I had no idea that other kids were experiencing the same thing and that there was nothing wrong with me, that it was not my fault, and that help was available. I am so happy that there are books now for kids that DO discuss sexual abuse because it would have helped me SO much to know that I was not alone. That isn’t the situation with Lawn Boy, but there are several books appropriate for elementary school that do include characters who experience sexual abuse and I am so glad they exist now. |
