? for the mom w/ a toddler with down's. why are you using a handicapped tag?

Anonymous
I saw you parking in the handicapped space and yes, I know you have a tag. but why? I saw your child walking to the store. You can both walk. WTF?

You are beyond belief - the kid could have all sorts of limitations not immediately apparent. Maybe he can walk some days and not others. Maybe just a short distance. Maybe mom can't manage him and packages on a long walk back to the car.

Of all the things to bitch about you chose this?

Maybe mom has a non visible impairment. Just be thankful for the extra exercise you got. Tool.

I'm guessing the mom has the tags for herself and has some non visible issue that inhibits her ability to walk long distances.

Wow, I've complained about people I've seen with handicap tags before, but this? OP is on the fast track to hell.

OP, people like you make me sick. I look ok, but my heart condition makes me not able to walk long distances. I have a handicapped tag and I get crap comments like yours all the time. If she has a tag she got it from a dr. No need to justify it to YOU. She has enough problems. Leave her and her poor child alone. Haven't you got anything better to do?!

OP you are lucky this is an anonymous form and we really can't see you or know where you live, well Jeff can. But seriously, I don't think you would have a leg to stand, literally!

OP sounds like the loser who posted 3 different threads one day and then a fourth about how DCUM was going wild that day (he/she used another expression, I can't remember now.) Just screaming for attention.

I believe the term was hopping

OP, as the mom of a disabled "toddler," let me educate you a bit. She may look like a toddler, but she's actually almost seven years old. Yep. Seven. When you see me holding her hand and her "toddling" along like that, that's the best she can do. It's called a "disability." And despite that huge smile on her face because she's showing off her walking skills, she gets tired after about 20 steps. And needs to be carried or put in her wheelchair.

Does that explain it? Or would you like to talk to her doctor, her physical therapist, her occupational therapist, her IEP team too? And can I talk to your children's medical professional about their development? Cause I'm just a busybody like that too.

My friend has a non-visible condition that makes her unable to walk long distances. She has actually been yelled at in parking lots because people can't "see" her disability. Have a little compassion and faith in people and don't immediately assume right off the bat that people are somehow trying to game the system. Be grateful you don't need a handicapped parking tag.

OP, I'm so sorry that you don't have anyone to spend the holiday weekend with. It must be very hard being so lonely.
