Doubt this will ever happen. Just not the right location, as you need just for class 6:
(and they hold class 5 in the same area generally too)

To meet all the requirements for each of the 4 Spring Jubilee sports.
You need TWO schools in the same general area for each class alone.
Need to be able to host both boys and girls Lacrosse (4 teams- 2 each gender in the finals), boys and girls soccer (8 teams -4 each gender- as the semi finals are on Friday and finals Sat) Baseball and softball (again 8 teams-play on Friday and Sat)

Simply not enough infrastructure in the SC area to hold the event there- hotels, restaurants etc.

The Word is there is NO live stream - great choice for a state final.

Yeah, just not true.

Its part of the requirement to host the spring jubilee, along with a host of other requirements. We get it you don't want to travel to Richmond, but at this point suck it up.

It's not the travel dummy (travel much further for club games) - it's the 40 people in the stands and crappy/lame atmosphere for Class 6 State Final. feels like a neutral site scrimmage without the fanbase that shows up when 2 NoVA powerhouse teams play each other.

Please do not call me dummy, ad hominem attacks will get you no where with me.

Now, if you think the state and VHSL cares about class 6 lacrosse, or lacrosse or NOVA powerhouses in general, you are sadly mistaken. Out of the 4 sports- lacrosse, soccer, baseball and softball- what do you think comes in dead last in the state as a whole? Now I will agree with you- lacrosse is the best of those sports. However, you seem to be very narrowminded about the state sports in general and not see the big picture.

Ill give you one guess as to the dead last sport......
Ill also give you a hint as its the ONLY sport where they lump Class 1-4 all together for a jubilee.

Instead of screaming about injustice and the ME ME ME Class 6 attitude. Go out and grow the game. Get more 4s, 3s, 2s, 1s (Even 5&6s in the SW and VA beach areas) in VA involved. Make it important the state as a whole, to VHSL, and maybe, just maybe they will listen to you.

I agree with the poster that says South County would be the best place to host. Just in terms of infrastructure (including the middle school that is connected) they have 3 turf rectangular fields, 2 baseball fields and 1 softball, plus 3 huge grass areas for warmups. I don't know of any other high school setup with that much space that would allow for simultaneous play between sports. It seems like the whole point of the jubilee is that it should all be in one place so that people can see everything, but the reality of the setup in most cases (including this year) is that it's split between 3 nearby high schools, which defeats that purpose. Note that there would be some issue at South County since not all of those fields have bleachers, but that might be able to be solved with something temporary.

Thinking too small here. It’s not just the playing fields. You need the further infrastructure. Yes, bleachers, all fields need to meet spec, dressing areas and locker rooms for officials, players etc.
the go outside the school. Where are the hotels? Restraints etc. you housing all the teams in Springfield? Potomac Mills?
Just won’t happen.

If you are going to split between schools, there are schools within 10-15 mins of SoCo that could be used too and are easy to access such as W Springfield and Lake Braddock. I agree that Soco is a nice option.

Take a look at the Deep Run library of past games on NFHS... all away games, nothing home. Word from an AD is a live stream is NOT a requirement to host a state game.

Sounds like it is the travel. Our school's 1st state championship, school coordinated 3 buses for students. Lots of alums and parents/ex-parents/future families made it, too.

No one is hosting jubilees based on where they think the lacrosse finalists will be from.

Quit bringing 100% facts.

plenty of hotels around South County, and the reality is that many teams won't need hotels, this year or most years to play at SC. This year, if you look across baseball, softball, B and G soccer, and B and G lacrosse - 17 teams wouldn't need hotels based on proximity - 3 teams would. No doubt there are still some logistical challenges with locker rooms, etc, but if you're trying to find one place that is the best single location option - I think that's it.

Then send a letter making your case to the South County AD. You'll get crickets in response because it's the end of the year and every just wants to go home.

Thank you. I am done speaking to the brick walls here that fail to see the larger picture(s) at play. Very small minded in anything beyond what is their priority or the ability to see anything else.
