Donnie Dumptruck says Mar-A-Lago's been searched by the FBI

The damage that Trump (and Trumpsters) have done to this country is going to last for a very very long time, and most of it the public will never know about. I really weep for this country. IMO, it's worse than what GWB/Cheney did regards to the WMD fiasco, which is the reason I left the R party.

Same. Well it was the Iraq war overall, plus the insane reaction to Obama that made me really reevaluate American “conservatism”. I was young.

Republicans legitimately seem confused about basic civics stuff, and that would be okay (we all forget some of that stuff) if they didn’t believe conspiracy theories instead of searching out the actual answers.

Republicans:

Here's a simple test for figuring out when you are being manipulated by your so-called "media" sources:

If you change "Trump" to "Hillary" or "Obama" in any headline, does your feeling about the topic at hand immediately change to the exact opposite?

"Trump kept classified documents in boxes in his basement." EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE!

"Hillary kept classified documents on a server in her basement." LOCK HER UP!

By law, Hillary can’t declassify documents

The Secretary of State most certainly can declassify documents.

You’re being too nice. You know the PP is just trying to say that TFG is the true and current POTUS—he’s full on supporting the shadow government TFG is trying to run.

The rest of that story is that Biden was in this from the beginning and didn’t hear about it ‘when we did, through the media’. His administration waived Trump’s executive privilege. That will probably go to the SC. Given the history of the FBI targeting, I know how that will probably go

Source for these claims?

Idiot PP took the bait. Trumpy “journalist” John Solomon was given the OK to release the letter to get his base all riled up about Biden. But what the letter actually does reveal is hideously bad for Trump.

There is no bait to take. What I said was true. Garland said it was all him and the Biden administration claimed they had nothing to do with it.

The raid, dummy. Biden said he had nothing to do with the raid. That is different than the substance of the underlying dispute. Really people stop creating false disputes.

Ah, so Biden found out about it when we did?

The raid? Yes. Unless you have some proof that Biden is lying.

“According to memos obtained by Just the News, the National ‘acting’ Archivist ran to Joe Biden’s White House, talked to the lawyer, and said Trump’s asserting executive privilege over some presidential papers at Mar-a-Lago. Can you waive your predecessor’s privilege?” Watters recapped.

“The Counsel to the President has informed me that, in light of the particular circumstances presented here,” Wall’s letter stated, “President Biden defers to my determination, in consultation with the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, regarding whether or not I should uphold the former President’s purported ‘protective assertion of executive privilege’…I have therefore decided not to honor the former President’s ‘protective’ claim of privilege.”

“This has never been done before and Joe Biden’s lawyer said yeah, waive the privilege. And that set the raid in motion,”

That was months and months before the search and after NARA’s criminal referral to the DOJ. What is this from? Why is “acting” in quotes?

Nara’s letter stated specifically that WH counsel was involved, and the lawyer stated that he spoke to Biden about waiving privilege. Biden might have not know what date the raid was going down, but he knew it was going down. Where else have we heard the line ‘we heard about it through media the day the American people did”? Obama era

How many opportunities did Trump have to cooperate between the waiving privilege conversation and the search warrant execution? Donnie thinks he’s above the law, and finally found out he is not.

Just think about what you are saying. Several months ago, Trump exerted Executive Privilege for why he might not wish to return documents that he is by law required to return. NARA turned to the only person holding Executive Privilege and said "do you want to intervene here?" Biden said "no." How do you get from there to "Biden signed off on a raid!" There are so many other ways things could have gone. Like Trump actually cooperating. None of us would have heard about any of this if he had just handed over the papers he had no rights to.

Trump not STEALING classified files would have been the first step.

Who really cares if Biden knew or when he knew? The only reason this matters to anyone is if they are trying to distract from Trump's illegal behavior.

The blame rests firmly at the feet of Trump. He is in the wrong. He did something illegal and now he potentially will pay the price for his ILLEGAL behavior.

Finding those kinds of documents in random boxes of crap, in a closet at a private residence, is like finding a bloody knife and footprints.

No, we normies have no first hand experience with special access programs, but it doesn’t take a genius to read or watch anything about historical programs above top secret (basically) and understand what kind of enormous messes Trump may have made. It is beyond unreal how bad the GOP is, defending this and downplaying it.

It is amazing that someone is hyper-focused on what Biden was briefed on when another poster shared an article that there are secret tunnels under Mar-a-Lago (you know the place where the gov'ts docs were being carelessly kept) that folks were using to come and go as they please. The tunnels connected to good ole Rudy's home - the guy whose Russian associates Lev and Igor were convicted of funneling Russian money to Republican political candidates.

But sure - Trump's relationship with Russia was a hoax - not an ongoing criminal enterprise.

Yes, Biden was supposed to step in and say "no biggie, Trump is allowed to keep these top secret documents in his basement." It's like everybody, including the U.S. president, and *especially* the U.S. president, has to bend their morals and break our laws in order to accomodate Trump.

There is no evidence that Trump declassified these documents. By even if he had, they still would not be his documents to take.

Refresh my memory. Did Hillary still have documents after she was out of office? Were they originals or attached to emails? What happened as a result of that inquiry?

Assume they were already selling secrets before the end of the term (see tunnels under MaraLargo) so maybe most secrets are already sold?

The three letter agencies are compromised.

I mean, who appointed the FBI director?
