Republicans legitimately seem confused about basic civics stuff, and that would be okay (we all forget some of that stuff) if they didn’t believe conspiracy theories instead of searching out the actual answers.

Republicans:

Here's a simple test for figuring out when you are being manipulated by your so-called "media" sources:

If you change "Trump" to "Hillary" or "Obama" in any headline, does your feeling about the topic at hand immediately change to the exact opposite?

"Trump kept classified documents in boxes in his basement." EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE!

"Hillary kept classified documents on a server in her basement." LOCK HER UP!

By law, Hillary can’t declassify documents

There is no evidence that Trump declassified these documents. By even if he had, they still would not be his documents to take.

Refresh my memory. Did Hillary still have documents after she was out of office? Were they originals or attached to emails? What happened as a result of that inquiry?

No. She didn’t.
She sat for 10 hours under oath.
The result was no evidence of wrong doing.

Finding those kinds of documents in random boxes of crap, in a closet at a private residence, is like finding a bloody knife and footprints.

No, we normies have no first hand experience with special access programs, but it doesn’t take a genius to read or watch anything about historical programs above top secret (basically) and understand what kind of enormous messes Trump may have made. It is beyond unreal how bad the GOP is, defending this and downplaying it.

Doesn’t take a genius, but apparently it takes more intelligence than any GOP politician has. Hopefully the voters are smarter.

It’s just absolutely crazy to me that this kind of information was hanging out at MLA of all places!!!

This is going to make a great movie some day. Meanwhile the powers that be watched in slow motion while a criminal con man sold our deepest secrets to our enemies. I always thought that there were three letter agencies that would prevent this.

Assume they were already selling secrets before the end of the term (see tunnels under MaraLargo) so maybe most secrets are already sold?

They didn’t need tunnels. Jared — who couldn’t obtain a security clearance — was feeding material to MBS through backchannels. And he was rewarded to the tune of $2bn. Who knows what he gave to MBZ for the sovereign wealth fund bailout of 666 Fifth Avenue. Same for Flynn’s dealings with Turkey.

The tunnels connected to good ole Rudy's home - the guy whose Russian associates Lev and Igor were convicted of funneling Russian money to Republican political candidates.

But sure - Trump's relationship with Russia was a hoax - not an ongoing criminal enterprise.

The warren of underground passageways and tunnel beneath the roadway aren’t exactly a secret. Neither are the three bomb shelters constructed by Marjorie Marriweather Post during the Korean War. The property is a National Historic Site.

The three letter agencies are compromised.

I mean, who appointed the FBI director?

How Wray wasn’t removed after the intelligence failures leading to an armed domestic insurrection is a story yet to be told.

Goes hand-in-hand with TFG’s unmonitored telephone conversations with Putin on unsecured telephones. Or his Helsinki meeting. There’s no way a trained KGB intelligence officer wasn’t extracting valuable information from his credulous asset.

Judge ordered redacted version released by noon tomorrow. Appears he accepted all of the government's proposed redactions.

Cue to Trumpkins saying it should all be redacted. All of it.

DOJ didn’t want it released at all, so their redactions will probably be heavy. Trump has been arguing (in public, not in court) it should be released in full because he wants to know whose spilling the beans on him.

Yes, quite true, and the Trumpkins on here are waiting to see what TFG tells them to spray about tomorrow.

Tomorrow is also the day Trump’s supplemental brief is due in the special master proceeding, so tomorrow could be a heck of a ride.

If it’s written as well as the last one, it should be laugh worthy.

Who wants to bet that The Trump Clown Show Legal Team screws up their special master filings AGAIN.

Also, has anyone calculated the percentage of current and former Trump attorneys who have retained their own lawyers because they are so bad at law? I’m guessing that Bobb is the most recent Trump Lawyer Needing Their Own Lawyer but it might take some time until we find out.

Also also, do we know an example of a defense lawyer retained by Trump lawyer who themselves retained their own lawyer? As others have noted, MAGA stands for More Attorneys Getting Attorneys.

But Trump’s Legal Team motto? SITC: Send in the Clowns.
