Ellen would be entertaining to me. Leslie no.

Although I think Ellen is cute and she has a fun, peppy personality, her accent is grating and she doesn't really give off a romantic interest vibe. The Golden Bachelorette casting questionnaire asks which Golden Bachelor cast member he finds most attractive and why. The majority pick there will almost certainly be Golden Bachelorette. Because men are superficial, guarantee most will say Leslie or Faith (though the horses and camping thing will work against her). The other very attractive ones, Nancy and Joan, probably didn't get enough screen time to generate the same level of interest. It also doesn't make sense that Leslie seems to have a handler unless she is the presumed pick and is already being managed.

Do we know she has a handler? Because that seems important.

Also, do we believe this about the "casting questionnaire"? Where is this coming from?

Thank you! That was really interesting. I wonder how Gerry answered the "previous relationships" question, if that was on his questionnaire. Or whether the show ignored his previous relationships so they could spin it as "widower seeking new romance." Not that I'm a huge Gerry fan, I'm just curious.

At the end of the day, the producers care about audience size and ad revenue. They don't care what percentage of the men want to get into a particular contestant's pants.

Probably most of the audience is women (I don't have stats for that, just a hunch). If the producers suspect that their mostly-female audience doesn't want to watch a particular bachelorette, it probably won't happen. My guess is they're going to focus-group the heck out of their choices.

Oh yeah, focus-group data will be the main driver but they also need a pool of guys who are attracted to the woman for the show to have any chance of working. Interesting that Faith already said it will not be her.

Sure. But they care too much about the potential size of their mostly female audience to ignore what their female audience wants in a bachelorette. No way they're going to first choose a bunch of men and then, second, choose a bachelorette based on the men's responses. They won't let a bunch of aging horndogs make the crucial bachelorette decision for them.

You're thinking about this backwards. First they're going to pick the bachelorette, because that's the big decision. And then they're going to use the questionnaire to pick the guys who would like her based on their questionnaire responses. Not the other way around.

True. I'm pretty sure Leslie's huge social media following is mostly women. Anyway, whoever it is will be carefully vetted. If someone has something really unappealing turn up, it could rule them out even if they seem like a natural pick.

Kathy is horrible so us Has
Joan and Ellen said no thanks to Gerry, smart
Faith said thanks but no thanks
Leslie great lady to try.
She’s cool, very active, very into exercise and fun things. She loves animals. She sells bark bars on Amazon. Whoever said she is absolutely not interesting as a person is pretty funny. How the hell do you say that? Awful
Oh yes, these men can’t wait to be married to a know it all brainiac 70 year-old woman that thinks she knows it all, they’re dying to date a woman like that.

What was so interesting about Gerry to you?
Was it that he had a Burger King? That’s really interesting, what else?
Oh, I know it was cause he plays pickle ball.
I guess it was because they felt he was handsome ,just like Leslie is beautiful
so I don’t know what this person is thinking that she needs to have a PhD in world affairs.
Get real

The overall comments and feeling about Leslie on every site I have seen is everybody loves Leslie and they’re rooting for her
so if they’re smart they’ll pick Leslie for ratings if nothing else ,this is America and we like to see the underdog win

During the wedding show, didn't Faith say something like "I didn't say that" with regard to whether she was willing to move?

In some interview or another, she claimed she'd be willing to move for the right person and added she'd hoped Gerry would be willing to compromise for someplace in the middle. He wasn't, which I kind of get. Very inconvenient locations in that case. I don't know, she seemed pretty firm about not leaving her dead horse. By the way, her insecurities were pretty constant and grating. Hers and Leslie's both.
