Ellen would be entertaining to me. Leslie no.

Although I think Ellen is cute and she has a fun, peppy personality, her accent is grating and she doesn't really give off a romantic interest vibe. The Golden Bachelorette casting questionnaire asks which Golden Bachelor cast member he finds most attractive and why. The majority pick there will almost certainly be Golden Bachelorette. Because men are superficial, guarantee most will say Leslie or Faith (though the horses and camping thing will work against her). The other very attractive ones, Nancy and Joan, probably didn't get enough screen time to generate the same level of interest. It also doesn't make sense that Leslie seems to have a handler unless she is the presumed pick and is already being managed.

OMG can no one have an opinion that differs from you? Stop posting the same thing over and over. Let. It. Go.

Do we know she has a handler? Because that seems important.

Also, do we believe this about the "casting questionnaire"? Where is this coming from?

Pretty detailed. How would they know if the prospects are telling the truth though? Hope they do better background checks than they did on Gerry even if they decide to do their usual 'glow-up.'

The questionnaire point is interesting. I think women and men would answer this very differently. Many women would rather see Ellen or Edith, but men will prefer Faith or Leslie I believe.

It's been said before, but the men who want hotties like Leslie actually want 40-somethings. Those guys aren't going to get cast.

Faith said at the end that she would absolutely have moved for the right guy. Reading between the lines, Gerry apparently wasn't the right guy. I wonder if that means she could come back.

Yes, you've made this point. Repeatedly. No-one agrees with you.

I assume they'll run background checks but that wouldn't necessarily turn up things like toxic romantic history. I wonder if they're allowed to speak with ex-wives, for example, to ensure no vitriol there.

Okay, so you prefer Faith. Doesn't your same logic apply? Because she doesn't seem to have much going for her other than being attractive, unless you actually like her singing. And she's not in her 40s either.

Maybe a little sexist, but a pool of older unattached men somehow makes me more nervous than unattached women of the same age. Anyone else?

Thank you! That was really interesting. I wonder how Gerry answered the "previous relationships" question, if that was on his questionnaire. Or whether the show ignored his previous relationships so they could spin it as "widower seeking new romance." Not that I'm a huge Gerry fan, I'm just curious.

At the end of the day, the producers care about audience size and ad revenue. They don't care what percentage of the men want to get into a particular contestant's pants.

Probably most of the audience is women (I don't have stats for that, just a hunch). If the producers suspect that their mostly-female audience doesn't want to watch a particular bachelorette, it probably won't happen. My guess is they're going to focus-group the heck out of their choices.

Yeah, as an older, divorced woman who's back in the dating game, you really don't know about the guys you meet until several months in. Some are obvious a-nurse-and-a-purse scammers, although maybe the show is filtering for that with the question about assets. (Wonder if the guys have to document their assets?) But other character flaws you just don't see until you're deep into it, even if you get prospects who look really good in person and on paper. Ask me how I know.

I'm not the pp, ask the moderator. There are several of us who are tired of the repetitive Leslie-boosting.

Oh yeah, focus-group data will be the main driver but they also need a pool of guys who are attracted to the woman for the show to have any chance of working. Interesting that Faith already said it will not be her.

There was a woman with her all night at the wedding and when asked who it was, she replied "my producer." And the articles on Leslie seem frequent and pretty polished, as if PR managed. Just a hunch. I like all the women and would watch any of them in their own show. Except Kathy.

So no factual basis.

Was anyone else assigned a producer for the evening? Please explain why you think Leslie was.

Leslie probably had a handler because she was emotionally fragile after Gerry's bad behavior, and if nothing else she needed support (I don't recall any of her friends being in the audience). I wouldn't want to read anything more into it.
