| This afternoon a crazy mom - shoulder length dark brown hair, driving a black Range Rover with a Norwood sticker - went careening down River Rd at 3:20ish. She appears to have been annoyed by a car that was stalled, and so leaned on her horn, and sped up, running a red light by Primary Day. Sheesh. Ease up lady! This is a downside of advertising your kid's school on the back of the car. |
| STFU, you live in this area your car shouldn't break down, buy new car |
|
OK, not Range Rover mom, but I used to be a SAHM with multiple pick up responsibilities. If you have more than one kid at more than one school, that time of day is very stressful. Maybe she was having a bad day. Give her a break.
|
| Maybe report it to Norwood and have them ask their parents to be more considerate/drive safely while driving to and from the school. There was a bad accident on that stretch of River on Saturday. |
|
Actually, it was a stalled car that probably came off the beltway. But maybe 16:32 would like to make Bethesda/Potomac a gated community.
16:38, you're more reasonable, but running a red light right by 2 schools (Primary Day and Holton) cannot be excused by having a "bad day." |
| Reckless driving need to be reported to the police for investigation. |
| Agree with 16:42. We're all stressed. It goes with the territory. It's never an excuse to endanger other people's lives. |
| next time take a photo with your phone and report it to TMZ.. |
Reminds me of the time a Sidwell Mom flipped me off on Old Georgetown Rd, then started running to security when I pulled into the LS parking lot right behind her. Seems she couldn't imagine that one of the "little people" she passed/ flipped off on her commute might also be picking their child up at Sidwell. When I introduced myself and said " I'm so sorry about my momentary confusion on which way to turn, I am new to the area", she acted like she wished the ground would open and allow her to fall in and hide. Note to self. |
| I'm sure she just ran a yellow light. People in this area seem to confuse yellow with red. The yellow is there so people won't slam on their brakes as soon as the light change and to allow people to clear the intersection safely. What to people in DC do? Slam on the brakes as soon as they see a yellow light. |

| Multiple pick ups are no reason to risk your own and others' lives with aggressive driving. Our neighbor was hit by a speeding driver on River Road - lucky to have lived. |
Shouldve stalled in a more appropriate area, we don't need riff raff in our neighborhood |
|
I'm not sure why people are excusing running a red light in front of a school -- two schools actually, since Holton is across the street.
I like 16:41's suggestion. I live near a private and have reported dangerous driving to them twice. They seemed to appreciate it, though I have no idea if they said anything to the parents. Some terrible accidents have happened along River Road. |
