Maybe his brother gave him some tips or was a co-conspirator.

Actually, it looks like he has two younger brothers, twins born in 1/1985. The whole family is a complete suck of judicial resources.

This guy can't afford a plane ticket by himself. Someone is sponsoring him.

In one of the first reports, a man was outside the house with the news crew & police saying his brother had been working at the house earlier on heating, but didn't know where he was/ hadn't been able to reach him... still MIA - possible connection?

Wow, does anyone recall?

OK sorry--I guess could be someone who worked on the house at some point. I mean I don't think this was "personal" as in an act of revenge. Could be someone who had worked there before and therefore had some familiarity with the house, I suppose. I don't think it was a former worker who had some kind of vendetta or someone upset about a business deal gone wrong.

Yes, excellent observation.

Too bad DC doesn't have the death penalty.

Federal charges for kidnapping, conspiracy, etc -- with murder death penalty is an option.

They didn't cross state lines in the kidnapping...

He drove the car to md, they wired money from a bank presumably not in dc. Can these be hooks?

Maybe the extortion, assuming the bank was not in DC. I don't know in practice though, but see https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/875

I live in AU Park and we have a steady stream of afternoon home break-ins. Always black males and I don't think any of them have been caught in the past year. It's always late in the afternoon and they enter the home through an unlocked door or low window and take whatever is visible. The events come in waves but probably happen at the rate of 2 or 3 homesevery other month.

Certainly there are probably many different people committing crime in upper NW but it makes me wonder if this guy has done this many times before all across NW. (and if he's been on of those in AU Park)

Sure they did. He came from MD. It's a conspiracy or individual plan that started in MD.

Just curious, no one has a home alarm? I've never owned one but I thought that was the whole point?
