He’s PRESUMED innocent according to US criminal law and can’t be held without arrest “while the investigation plays out”. He’s in DR, so the US should be calling for proper treatment and his return, now after 2 weeks captivity.

The people who chose to spoke to media about JR did so but they were not forced to. That does not mean the same should be expected of the companions the young woman traveled with. They probably were advised not to speak to media.
