And to pump his base for money that he’s using to pay his legal fees. |
All his supporters are way too stupid to figure this out. He just wants their money. He helped none of the poor white trash during his presidency. Only helped himself and his rich friends. |
I’m also talking about the decision about juries having to be unanimous. Happened Friday |
It SHOULD also only cover legitimate official business that is statutorily authorized and within scope of legitimate presidential duties. That DOES NOT include a lot of the other bullshit that Trump engaged in. |
That was about the ACCA, and who gets to decide whether previous crimes were committed separately or on the same occasion. It is specific to that statute. |
The only problem is in continually underestimating the insanity and stupidity of MAGAs. 20 or 30 years ago, had anyone said "hey so there's this guy running for President, who tried to overthrow the government, was caught trying to cheat in elections, a known con man, who stole classified documents, who sexually assaulted numerous women and cheated on every one of his wives and paid hush money to porn stars to keep them quiet, who's a convicted felon" most Americans would have thought that's completely nuts and would have the sense to not vote for him or send him a penny. But here we are. |
Yes. In the past his party would have shamed and ousted him and demanded better. But here we are. And I am glad that we weren't cowed into NOT prosecuting because he would fundraise and be a martyr. By intimidating into not prosecuting? That's terrorism. |
Judge Judy tells chris Wallace Bragg set up the trial for his own aggrandizement and that the trial was a waste of money. https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/20/politics/video/judge-judy-trump-civil-fraud-case-manhattan-da-wallace-wtcw-digvid |
I didn’t think we would ever see the self described “law and order” party would ever embrace a convicted felon who has a long history of lying and cheating. How far can Trump go before shame catches up with Republicans and they say we can no longer support someone who sees himself as above the law.
Our first president George Washington said: “Virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government,”and “Human rights can only be assured among a virtuous people.” |
As people said a lot during the Trump years, “law and order” is a sort of virtue (well… vice) signaling for fascism sympathizers and fascists. Note how they do not choose to say “rule of law,” which implies a situation in which the law is applied equally to all. No, “law and order” means a crackdown on the skulls they think are causing a problem, even a ginned up problem, even a problem they themselves created. It means a world in which those in power can operate with flagrant lawlessness and never have a consequence catch them but a person out of power can be shot dead in the street for selling loose cigarettes and the “law and order” people will say that justice was served and he should have complied. So it makes perfect sense that the “law and order” party think Trump’s charges are all political theater: in their worldview, he’s above the law. |
The former Democrat Governor of New York just admitted live on air that the Trump case would've never been brought if Trump wasn't running for President "I'm telling you, that case would have never been brought. And that's what's offensive to people. And it should be." |
What they are saying with "law and order" is that they want to weaponize law and order against everyone who disagrees with or opposes them. Doesn't apply to them, though. |
Considering the payment to shut the women up was paid for by people who send him money, it wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t running for president. |
+1 Until the tiger they’re riding turns around and eats them, too. |
