Bethesda Soccer On Way Down

I did look at coaches. SM is the man and above him WR. The new replacement PD is horrendous, he has no soccer IQ, just a pompous feetin. Mid range coaches at Bethesda are actually pretty good and KM for the older boys is a special coach, knows how to tap into talent and being out the best. Coached my boy and team had a good experience. Losing Sm Is a loss.

Concrete, helpful feedback even if people don’t agree. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback! Any experience with CM or ED?

Not yet but I have a younger boy coming up and haven’t heard anything bad! A lot of the U little coaches seem good too so I think we will stay put for now.

We have moved clubs a few times and despite the issues I see it’s very coach dependent and the grass is not always greener at other clubs. If you find a good coach and good parents/teammates stay put. It’s not about the name or the letters of your club and designation. Aside from a very select few, it’s a fun game for little kids and it’s supposed to be fun.

CM is fine but not great. ED seems more promising but still getting used to the club.

Agree CM was fine with SM up top. Now i can't fathom what his value is. Really nice guy, nice coach but not much more there.
ED I only know of with his younger team and he seems great. Very promising coach. Not a SM but that's what makes SM special. Seriously when people know where he ends up pls post it.

Agree. I need SM to land somewhere great at U15 level. We would move our kid.

SM is a great player developer and an even better human. Doesn’t make sense why they would get rid of him.

I know a number of parents specifically ousted him from their team last year.

Not sure what led to the split this year. He does know he has the sauce so I can see him giving BSC leadership a Logan Roy F.O. about any 2017/2018 parental complaints this year.

Not every kid can handle his direct approach. Not every parent can either. The parents who ousted him last year felt like the process was not “fun” for the kids. My kid considers getting better and winning fun but everybody has their own metric.

Oh wow good to know. I did notice Next Star moved its training to Bethesda facilities! Maybe SM was under pressure to do the same? I hope this was SM's decision. He's just a good coach. He should be with the U11s and higher, not the Ulittles. U littles need a different touch. That's a good spot for CM! AAAhhhhhh I would love to see PD sidelined to the U littles with his imperious tones, cold demeanor and douchey personality. Instead he's taking a top spot and i don't think he's showing much for it. When my U little comes up I think I would consider Armour or another club over this one if it was under him and I wanted to stay on the MLS next pathway.
