Not too long ago a bunch of DCUM Democrats were frothing at the mouth trying to blame Virginia's budget battle on the Republicans. Not only were those comments inaccurate, they were transparently politically motivated. Now that Maryland is having trouble getting its house in order, I just wonder who the Democrats will blame.
LOL!! |
Go away. |
Hilary Rosen. Oh wait, wrong thread. |
You have described yourself. Way to go! |
Guilty as charged about the politically motivated. Just amused at the outrage expressed on here about the Virginia republicans and the defeating silence about the situation in Maryland. But at least the Marylanders get to pay higher taxes for their dysfunction! |
OMG that was ONE OP and there was ONE additional supporter. Chances are really good that they don't live in MD. Maybe you are trying to hard by attributing their beliefs to the entire Democratic party. The OP was shouted down by practically everyone, including Dems. |
Bush's fault ![]() |
I don't give a shit because I don't live in MD. And they are not trying to wand me. |
No, not really. Have you done anything except go to baseball games and do the coin flip for the Cowboys? How about you go raise some money for Katrina victims or something... scoot! |
Like the billion dollars of wealth that left the state after the millionaire's tax passed or just disappear the raided transportation fund? |
Oh yeah, we debunked that two years ago. It was the economy. And two years later, we know the number of millionaire taxpayers started increasing again in 2010, with the improvement in the economy. Thanks for rehashing it though. |
Probably because most Maryland readers on this forum are from MoCo, which is actually faring MUCH better because of the General Assembly's inability to pass the budget and revenue package that it really wanted. PG County and Baltimore City will be decimated, though.
MoCo is secretly hoping the MGA does not get its act together and call a special session. |
The tax expired in 2010...but probably just a coincidence right? |
OK since you are going to keep pretending this is true: A. The millionaires tax expired Dec 31, 2010. So you were off by a year. Oopsie! B. The Wall Street Journal editorial about millionaires leaving the state was debunked. The IETP did a study which actually looked at the 2008 tax returns of the 2007 millionaires. Guess what, almost all of them were in MD in 2008. But because of the downturn, about 3,000 of them made less than $1 million in that year. According to WSJ they "moved". In reality, they just earned less and didn't count as millionaire tax returns. |
I don't know of the IETP study, but would like to read the report if available and with that said, the link to the wsj article is below. I also don't think I'm rehashing this topic, news of the proposed "half millionaires tax" makes this worth revisiting. And BTW, who is "we" as in "we debunked that two years ago"? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124329282377252471.html |
