Oh yeah, we debunked that two years ago.  It was the economy.  And two years later, we know the number of millionaire taxpayers started increasing again in 2010, with the improvement in the economy.

OK since you are going to keep pretending this is true:

A.  The millionaires tax expired Dec 31, 2010.  So you were off by a year.  Oopsie!

B.  The Wall Street Journal editorial about millionaires leaving the state was debunked.  The IETP did a study which actually looked at the 2008 tax returns of the 2007 millionaires.  Guess what, almost all of them were in MD in 2008.  But because of the downturn, about 3,000 of them made less than $1 million in that year.  According to WSJ they "moved".  In reality, they just earned less and didn't count as millionaire tax returns.

I don't know of the IETP study, but would like to read the report if available and with that said, the link to the wsj article is below.   I also don't think I'm rehashing this topic, news of the proposed "half millionaires tax" makes this worth revisiting.  And BTW, who is "we" as in "we debunked that two years ago"?
