Half of the month does count.

People in radio, just like others in jobs, get a set amount of time to take off before the year is up. For whatever reason, Kane decided to take most of December off. Other radio shows will have fill in's or split the shift (for example, 94.7, Tommy took time off, and the afternoon host covered for him and one of the other people that is on air with Tommy was on in the morning as well).

Im not sure beacuse the radio ratings are based on certain time periods. December is just one of them, huge rating periods are between Jan till May. Something besides him sick define happened for him to take 2 days off last week.
