Right. Like these things can’t change. You’re a fool. |
Maybe a fresh perspective is exactly what we need. So-called education “experts” are often morons. I mean, look at Lucy Calkins and all the sheep that blindly followed her. And wasn’t she part of Columbia - the best education school in the US?! If that’s what the best school produces, it’s no wonder education in the US compares so terribly to so many other countries. |
Bullsh1t. I have only pointed out misleading comments with actual FACTS. And I’m not a “Kadera supporter”. In fact, I was very critical when she first announced. But I’ll take her over the leader of APE. |
+1 I actually don’t care all that much who wins. Disqualify them both for all I care. I mostly just don’t want to see a group of people who have been throwing tantrums and intentionally misleading rewarded for their actions. No, you don’t get what you want by screaming at teachers and school board members. |
Here’s a fact for you: Stating that a candidate put her child in private school without mentioning that it is temporary until the child can return to in-person public school makes you an a*shole. |
Spot on, they also attack people online, see above |
I see a lot of attacks from both sides, sadly. |
It's a really emotional time, so I'm not surprised people are behaving badly on both sides.
That said, the only official campaign statements that have been snarky have come from Kadera's campaign, though arguably the worst behavior is from some of Turner's supporters. Personally, I don't blame Turner for her worst supporters, but I do blame Kadera for the attacks she is making. |
she's defending herself against MT supporters false claims |
Kadera was not defending herself against anything (other than the risk of losing) when she posted that announcement about how she, unlike some other unnamed candidate, would not be engaging in any get-out-the-vote effort, with the implication that the unnamed candidate would be engaging in vote tampering/voter intimidation. It was plain old low-class, dirty politics. |
You don’t even know what you’re talking about. There is no “Union,” not yet, and teachers are not and have never been obligated, by their legal contracts, to work summer schools. It’s optional. They are not indentured servants. They also don’t and didn’t decide whether or not to return to school. Take your teacher-hating self to the ice cream truck and drive it right out of Arlington. |
Disagree. She was preemptively getting the word out about exactly the sort of thing that Miranda and her campaign have engaged in this week. By Miranda's own admission in her newsletter, she is willing to offer people hotspots so they can vote right there, presumably in front of her or campaign staff. I know of one elderly couple who was supplied a computer by Miranda's campaign to vote right then and there. These are questionable tactics that speak to election integrity (including maintaining appropriate distancing and privacy from those casting votes) and Mary was clear from the outset that she would not engage in them. She called on Miranda to agree to the same, a call that obviously has fallen on deaf ears in Miranda's circle. |
That’s right |
Miranda supporters at least 50% republican I’m guessing. She should run as an independent |
Mary is the more well-rounded candidate. But Miranda is going to win.
And I'm going to laugh and laugh. It was her race to win, but Mary's supporters blew it for her. |
