And while I'm not crazy about Kadera - her kid(s) are also at a school in South Arlington. Try not to misrepresent things, OK?
Saying her kids are at a school in south Arlington does not paint an accurate picture. Her kids were very much in north Arlington elementary schools and now in Kenmore MS - a school literally on the south side of Route 50 - and are likely to attend their districted north Arlington high school. As a parent whose children are solidly in south Arlington schools from a high poverty ES to a high poverty MS to Wakefield, I don't think this is what most people conjure up in their minds when they hear someone from north Arlington sent their kids to Kenmore. They are still very much north Arlington folks.
Do you prefer a S Arlington family who sends their kids to private school? Because that's what Miranda is.
DP. She sent one of her children to private for part of a year due to extenuating circumstances related to a pandemic. Stop manipulating and exaggerating. The more Kadera supporters go low and try to slime Turner, the more convinced I am that it’s because they can’t come up with anything positive their candidate had to offer as an alternative.
Agree.
You're fine with campaign volunteers intentionally misleading voters, but pointing out basic facts like where their kids go to school is "sliming" someone? GMAFB. This whole thing is ridiculous. APE spreads toxicity wherever it goes.
I’m not part of APE, but even I agree with PP. All of these claims about her sending her kid (singular) to private school due to lack of access to in-person schooling really doesn’t reflect what you’re saying. I’ve heard she plans to have this kid return to Drew once school is back in person full time. I was on the fence, but these Kadera crazies have made it an easy choice. One doesn’t have to be part of APE to agree that kids should be in school full time right now. And spare me the comments saying it’s a non-issue because we are guaranteed in-person school next year. We were also promised summer school, yet here we are. I have no confidence in APS currently.
You weren't promised summer school. Every communication qualified the summer school plans on the ability to secure teachers. For the fall, state law (SB 1303) requires full-time, in-person learning for anyone who wants it. Teachers teaching virtually do not satisfy the law's requirement that a teacher be physically in each classroom. If there is an outbreak at a school, only that school can close --not others in that district -- and only for so long as it takes to clear that outbreak. Clearly, reading is not your strong suit or you would already know this information.
Way to win me over. I’ll vote for Miranda, thanks. And now I’ll spread the word to friends that have no idea this race is even happening.
Ok? I wasn't trying to win over anyone, certainly not an anonymous commenter on DCUM. Just a fed up parent who is, frankly, tired of both sides spewing BS about everything and just trying to correct the record where I can.
Right. Like these things can’t change. You’re a fool.
