2) Fix that BRF (Biitchy Resting Face, not British Royal Family)
3) Better bras
4) Update your wardrobe.

Best tip ever, thank you!

It's a useless tip, because there's not much you can do about it, short of surgery. I guess you could plaster a fake smile on your face so that it's never actually resting.

Also, it's RBF: Resting B*tch Face.

No, it's b*tchy resting face. Resting face is modified by the adjective b*tchy. I don't have a b*tch face that is resting. I have a resting face that looks b*tchy. Not everyone's resting face looks b*tchy. Most people have a neutral resting face.

It's RBF... the resting is first. Don't make up "things"

If you start too late, you have to go heavy because the muscle ends up needing a ton in order to calm it down. And because Botox doesn't do anything to the skin, you can still see the wrinkles laying on top of a tight forehead. I think Botox looks awful and should not be done if you're at that point.

How about just say no to injecting your face with botulism?

Failure to remove facial growths.

Spending money on new boobs when you really need botox or nose job. or both

Ugly brassy highlights or dye job that looks necky. Just go dark.

Yes

Nobody needs any of those things (absent deviated septum, of course).

Wearing an ill-fitting bra. It's soooo common - I feel like most people's boob's change with kids, and they don't change their bra size. Or they just wear the same bra for decades even though it's stretched out. Badly fitting bras age you SO much.

Oh, let me be clear, those aren't "mistakes." I'm doing that shit on purpose.

Sad , you'll be ignored

You're the one who's sad.

The only beauty mistake I see 40+ women making is forgetting themselves and self care! They are taking care of everyone else and not themselves. Other than that, who TF cares if you have grays and a few extra pounds and wear keens? I think my friends look lovely and that is because they still find clothing that makes them feel good and like to express themselves and have fulfilling jobs and lives. Happiness is the best look.

Kate Middleton is very relevant to this thread bc she makes so many 40+ beauty mistakes-too thin, heavy makeup, wrinkles galore, which look super weird when you have a shiny, over-Botoxed forehead.

She looks pretty perfect to me. I give her a pass on the makeup. It is heavy at times, but she is also wearing makeup to be photographed and seen at event, not putzing around at Whole Foods.

PP is right. She’s hideous. When you’re 40+, you can’t just slap on clown makeup, with the excuse you’re going to an event, and expect to look good in pictures or in person. And why does someone who has no job other than to look pretty look so busted? Heavy wrinkles are not attractive and you’d think she has the resources to not look so haggard.

Kate has always looked older than her age (probably due to sun exposure and smoking), but she's always looked lovely. She's neither hideous nor "busted".

I agree with both PPs above my post here. I’m so exhausted by the extravagant nastiness and misogyny. It’s just pathetic and has NOTHING to do with appreciating beauty or swapping tips and perspectives.

You are both pretty horrible people. I just don’t see other women like you do. You are total assholes if this is the script running through your minds while you’re out in the world.

Why in the world does every thread on DCUM now have some comments from poster(s) who are obsessed with the BRF and figure out some way to insert them into the topic?

It's insane!

I purposely avoid Entertainment because it's horribly infested with them. Now it's here on Beauty, too?

Are we heading towards a renaming - BRFurbanmom?

Navy and gray are also good.

Depends. My older cousin has been using blue eyeliner (kinda like Kate Middleton) for decades. It's such an outdated look as is my cousin's long feathered hair. Granted she went to college in the mid-west so I think her adult look has been frozen like this for at least 3 decades by now.

I don’t think it’s the color that makes an eyeliner outdated, it’s the manner in which it’s used. Kate likes to outline the entire eye, which is a rough look after a certain age.

I think that look may be coming back again
