What does 2CO and 2FO mean? |
|
No one knows. There is no consistency to the process. Relying on the GBRS, a subjective and invalided measure measure over valid tests with established norms introduces error into the process that you can’t control. MNy extremely gifted children were not accepted and many students that shouldn’t have been were. No one knows or is able to predict which is where part of the anxiety comes from.
And, to the PP, yes we do have other deadlines. Many apply to private schools if their gifted child is not accepted |
GBRS - which some parents got and others were told no. Another inconsistency. |
2 Consistently Observed and 2 Frequently Observed on the GBRS. CO is the highest ranking, then FO. You don't want any occasionally observed. I think that is the third one. |
+1 Except originally they were going to send on a Monday or Tuesday... |
That gives your child 14 out of 16 possible points, so definitely in the range for qualifiying. |
| Our school AART said April 26th. Does anyone else get the same info? |
That would make appeals really hard! No time for testing... |
| I just received an email from AART the DC qualified for Level III. Does that mean he didn't make it into Level IV? |
| Any consensus on whether they were sent by snail mail or getting emailed later this week? |
Our center school too. AART and teachers were very surprised. |
Well that’s interesting. Thought those come a month after level IV ones. What school or area? |
| Canterbury Woods |
They have made it very clear that they are not going to look at testing. It is on the web site that you can test but some AARTs have already told people that the appeals committee will not be looking at testing. The Equity report from last year recommended getting rid of the WiSC. |
Weird, our school doesn't bother with Level III announcements until after the new school year starts and they have SOLs and iReadys in hand. |
