Helpless family that just wanted a hypoallergenic dog but ended up with a no-off switch relentless predator.

Really? The shelters are overrun with them. Only a person with no heart or conscience shrugs about sad, lonely dogs living out their lives in a cage. The right owners can manage them and give them good lives.

That’s why this person with a heart and a conscience thinks that euthanasia for a breed notorious for unprovoked severe and fatal attacks is the best answer yet. Deal with the glut of pit bulls and save resources for other more peaceful animals who won’t bite off a baby’s face for sneezing.

Orrrr continue to push “adopt, don’t shop” and adopt pit bull mixes out to people with older kids (tweens or teens) or people with no kids.

Most of the mutts you get at a shelter are going to have some Pitt in them, even if it’s only a quarter or less. They’re not the societal hazard you think. Es there are some unfortunate incidents but they make the national news when they happen for a reason: they’re relatively rare. Consider the number of peaceful pitts out there happily living their best lives after a kind, non bigoted owner took them home.

These are not called stereotypes. These are breed traits, and if you are to get a purebred dog from a reputable, AKC-registered breeder, your dog should have the expected traits. Which is why people pay money vs. adopting a rescue, people who care about specific characteristics that is.

FYI, doodles are not a breed but a designer mutt created purely for a specific look.

Owners are dog snobs and think they are real dog people who know dogs… They happily ignore the fact that only an idiot would own a snow-loving marathon runner in the middle of a concrete city with hot summers built over a swamp.

Ha, you nailed me. I love Huskies and want one badly, but would never get one (or any other arctic/Spitz breed) in this climate. And yes, I'm way cooler than doodle owners and know more about dogs than everyone else.

Not everything is about you.

Anonymous wrote:Pit bulls… owners think they are automatically cooler than everyone bc they own a pit bull. Think they are superior because only they and other pit bull owners “get” this misunderstood breed. Secretly or overtly have some anger issues. Entitled. The ones with non-aggressive pit bulls are the worst… so, so superior - happily ignoring that their dog’s non-aggressiveness mostly has ZERO to do with what they did or didn’t do. Not people I want to hang out with.

This is so funny because the one with the chip on his/her shoulder is you. I just adopted a dog that happens to have some pit. Doesn't mean I feel superior or inferior. By your "logic" pit bulls can't win. According to haters they are bred to be killers and aggressive and that is their nature. However if they aren't aggressive and are good dogs...we "happily" ignore? Isn't that a good thing? actually I don't get your point at all so I can't guess.

Luckily we don't want to hang with you either.

AKC cares about looks. Not health, not temperament.

You revived my 2-year-old thread only to misunderstand the entire point of it.

🙄🙄

It was a fun thread, PP. If you bothered to read it, you’d have understood and not made an ass of yourself.

Boston Terrier - Gay male owner. Probably single, but dating. He is pretty lean, and he takes great care of his extensive trendy wardrobe.

Like The Rock Says it's a Frencie but it looks like a Frenchton. There's some Boston in there. https://www.pageaday.com/blog/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-frenchie-dog-hobbs-celebrities-and-their-pets

Friendly but sensitive owners. Have a million photos of their dog’s previous haircuts on their phone.

Owner is slightly anti-social and breed obsessed. The owner is always covered in dog hair. The owner will also talk your ear off about akitas if you let them.
