I am not. I was saying that it is preposterous to make judgments about teams based on a league, or a club, regardless of which league or club. It is very very murky. Which is why club--based leagues without regard for quality differences year over year are absolutely idiotic, no matter which league. The parent making the judgment above about ex-DA vs ECNL is essentially saying "Elite, but not too elite so my son's team is excluded, but exclusive enough that I can say that I am still elite." It's dumb. ECNL teams? Now Pipeline is an ECNL team. What about ex-DAs? You mean like VDA? Like Loudoun? Like McLean? You mean those ex-DA teams in the ECNL? Did the suddenly become worse because they are in the ECNL? Will Pipeline? Talking about leagues and clubs is a bunch of nonsense. Clubs like Achilles and Calverton Cerritos and Total Futbol go in and destroy a lot of top teams at these clubs and nobody ever talks about them. |

BRYC, LOUDOUN and MCLEAN are all stronger in several age groups than Pipeline and WCU and can all hang with Bethesda and Armour. DCU plays many players up in age. |
Some are, some aren’t (depending on age groups) and some clubs not in the discussion are stronger on average across boys teams at all ages, but who cares about averages when you could simply do this in open competition on a team basis instead of a club basis? I don’t get it. If you want to run for shelter in a league where you play nothing but other clubs who may or may not have good teams year over year in an age group, go for it. You won’t get even, consistent competition. |

Just out of interest, at what age group do you believe McLean is competitive with Pipeline, Bethesda or Baltimore? |
03 and 04 |
Those are the only competitive ages. Can we ask what percent of players on those teams were homegrown at McLean? Any reason they are not as competitive earlier? |
U16, U17 and U18 are age groups when results start to matter. Two of them competitive is already very good to me. Also which strong team has a majority of players from hometown? |
And how do you know these teams are competitive? I'm not saying they're not by the way - just wondering how you came to that conclusion. |
Results matter for what? To whom? Actually, I would say those other clubs have at least half homegrown, with Bethesda perhaps more. Does McLean just suddenly decide to start winning at that age - when it “matters?” Or is it the pixie dust they put in player water? So either they recruited well for those years or always recruit well is your answer? |
| Will Arlington Boys get the new MLS division? Seems the teams in this area know since BA has announced they will participate |
| No, they will do ECNL. |
| ECNL Without the girls?? |
With no source it's just speculation. As good as anyone else's opinion on here. |
