Take a read. This is the type of source you get in a public forum. The word is "ACCEPTED" not "EXCEPTED" Some of the most basic of language skills are a challenge for some that want you to take them seriously and consider their point of view |
Please add a hyperlink (even generic). If I had received that so-called "letter" from a club, I would think someone had taken too many swigs off the ol' bottle.. If I read that on a soccer forum, I would immediately recognize it as a fraud. Go back under your bridge troll! |
| Your “grounded”. Enjoy! Lol |
This was posted on SoCal Soccer Forum on Thursday 4/9. No one flinched or responded on that forum because they hear random crap like this on an hourly basis in their soccer-crazed world. This SoCal poster tried with two more desperate posts and got ZERO reaction. This SoCal troll must have then decided to pollute this forum on Friday 4/10 by starting this thread and complained when the post was deleted. He/she must be very proud to have gotten so much un-deserved reaction! |
| Honestly, would like more perspective from others around the U.S. on what they are hearing, seeing, feeling about the youth soccer culture. Personally, I think that if they do keep both of the leagues, they (the soccer powers that be) need to put together a tournament where both DA and ECNL complete against each other. I guess we already have a tournament now, where the ECNL youth teams play against the International youth teams in Florida. Maybe have the strongest DA team in the US try their hand in that tournament. See how they do. |
|
The issue I have with both leagues is the insane travel to play average teams when without both leagues, the best local teams would play each other without traveling across 2+ states. Consider the McLean and FCV U18/19 teams. Both are considered two of the best teams in the country but have never played each other even though they are less than 30 minutes apart.
Also, the writing is on the wall for the end of the GDA. In interviews with and about the newly appointed leaders, it was implied that the future of the GDA would be analyzed. |
Finally some honest discussion. Agreed a good idea. |
As tantalizing as that might be, it would not really do much to change the landscape much. I think we're after a longer term, more encompassing solution such as collapsing the two leagues down to one, preferably in a tiered arrangement of some sort. |
I know a dad whose son plays for Arlington DA. When the rumors started flying late last week, I called him because he's usually in the know and this is EXACTLY what he told me. I know he doesn't come onto this website, so he didn't write the above post either. It's either a crazy coincidence or this this sounds like an Arlington communication to me. |
| Arlington Soccer sent out an email over the weekend acknowledging there were rumors about the status of the DA "for the remainder of this season and beyond" but goes on to state, "The most recent communication that we received had confirmed that our club was granted the U17 Boys team to add to our boys DA program, and a reaffirmation of the continuation of our girls DA program." |
|
As was mentioned early on in this thread, these rumors are simply the result of ECNL partisans in their continued war against USSF and DA. They want to take advantage of the perfect storm of coronavirus, club affiliation announcements, and the leadership change to shake out players and further hurt DA. This has been an ongoing war waged by ECNL’ers pretty transparently on this board and others for years.
ECNL is simply upset about how things happened on the girls side and they feel that any tactics are justified in trying to stage their little coup d'etat. |
Meh. ECNL does not need this "little coup d'etat ". They will choke out GDA with or without this rumor. Just a matter of time. |
Okie dokie smokie |
How's the weather in sunny soCal this morning?

Good try, but no, I'm right down the street from you. |
