Mikey would never have left his Director job at BRYC to just be the boys coach taking a huge pay cut. He is taking over as the Girls Director (will be released this week) and it is rumored that he will take over the 04 and the 06 VDA girls teams. If this happens the 06 team will continue their success and the 04 team will become a top contender in the 04 age group, however, all age groups will benefit because he will bring in the correct training structure. Just a piece of advice to the VDA families, relax, rumors are just rumors so we will see, VDA administration is smart and will release the news when they are ready and we are all ready to receive the news. He is a great trainer so if you do get him you will be happy, don't listen to all the rumors those come from those who's kids just didn't make the cut or don't know what hard work is (Just like at any of the clubs).

Here is the thing, any kid he brings in has already proven themselves to Daddy Warbucks. Your kid won't get the chance to prove her worth. He isn't going to bring kids in who he does not believe to be top 11 already. If 4-5 kids follow him half your starting roster got benched.

Here is the thing, any kid he brings in has already proven themselves to Daddy Warbucks. Your kid won't get the chance to prove her worth. He isn't going to bring kids in who he does not believe to be top 11 already. If 4-5 kids follow him half your starting roster got benched.

I currently have dd at vda and wish this were the case but word is he is the girls director and will coach girls teams. I am surprised he is coming considering how little vda leadership has thought of him over the years. I am not excited about him coming nor is my dd.

You're wrong, he is going to be on the girls side as the Director Alex Herrera is taking over as Boys Director. Mikey would never have left his Director job at BRYC to just be the boys coach taking a huge pay cut. He is taking over as the Girls Director (will be released this week) and it is rumored that he will take over the 04 and the 06 VDA girls teams. If this happens the 06 team will continue their success and the 04 team will become a top contender in the 04 age group, however, all age groups will benefit because he will bring in the correct training structure. Just a piece of advice to the VDA families, relax, rumors are just rumors so we will see, VDA administration is smart and will release the news when they are ready and we are all ready to receive the news. He is a great trainer so if you do get him you will be happy, don't listen to all the rumors those come from those who's kids just didn't make the cut or don't know what hard work is (Just like at any of the clubs).

Players will follow Mikey but also players that have been traveling to Mclean and Loudoun from Haymarket/Gainesville will be looking at VDA

Matt Lacey will not let teams be dismantled. Maybe adding players but it’s not what some are making it out to be.

The only age group that might happen is next year’s U19 (02/03). VDA is already better than bryc in all the other age groups. Get a life. He’s not a savior. He’s smart for escaping the sinking ship he created though.

Clubs hire competing coaches all the time as a way of grabbing players. This is not uncommon. Not that Daddy Warbucks isn't a good coach but you can bet your life that he is on the phone with parents of his his favorite players "encouraging" them to come and "tryout at VDA". And if he has coached kids for 6 plus years why would he let all that work just go down the drain.
