Or for girls just go out for ECNL looks pretty easy to get in there these days too. |
| Kind of true. Haven’t noticed any clubs leaving ECNL for DA but I have seen it go the other way... with BIG clubs. |
What are you talking about? Nearly every inaugural club in GDA was an ECNL club. ECNL backfilled with Non-ECNL clubs like Loudoun, BRYC throughout the country. |
| Correct and many of them have gone back. No top ecnl clubs have left for the DA since after the initial wave when vda started. |
GDA*. Not VDA. |
LMVSC was there doing winter training. Not impressed. Kids were bored. |
True, but to be fair, most of the LMVSC kids get bored when directed to do anything besides run around with the ball at their feet or shoot at the goal. |
I think that describes pretty much any decent player under the age of 18. I would worry about a kid who loves running or agility drills or shape walk- throughs. |
I think previous poster was trying to insinuate that it's all they do versus looking to pass or keep possession. That there isn't more to that type of player. |
PP here. Maybe under the age of 13. After that, kids need to be able to put a little focus into learning and understanding the game. the older LMVSC boys at those clinics weren't gonna hear it, and eventually stopped coming. |
| If your still at LMVSC or SYC after U12 then your just training with no actual goals of doing anything else. You need to start looking at DA (boys) or ECNL for girls after that age. |
What do you mean? The goal is to always get better both individually and on the team level. If the opportunity opens up that a player should be playing at that higher level then so be it. If not, there is still a lot to learn about the game after U12 and it can be done while at LMVSC. You can still get good competition there at the older ages via CCL, State Cup, and tournaments. |
| So is SYC really going after the DA? Is that just a dumb rumor? What's their plan for next year, is it CCL or NCSL? Can they even get into CCL and what does that process look like? |
Very dumb rumor in my opinion. As plan for next year, maybe attend their next town hall or would like to see the opinion of their families. Seems like many posters are not associated with clubs in question. SYC Parents, how has it been in past weeks under the new leadership? How has the TD done with the teams he has taken over? Has their been more coaching and less social media or just more coaching then before? |
yikes my grammar, there not their and than not then. |
