I am surprised that I feel this morning not quite as bad, but close to how I felt on November 8, 2016. So disappointed in my country as to be emotionally distraught.

Kavanaugh, the white privileged man from Georgetown Prep who currently sits in a lifetime appointment is a 'victim' and must therefore be appointed to the highest court in the land.

Women in America, this is your reward for flooding CSPAN with your own stories of sexual assault, a complete disregard for the issue by our governing body.

Would love to see how cool and collected you would be under the circumstances.

We saw Ford yesterday, the actual victim. She kept her cool. He couldn’t. Why?

He has more to lose. And more to lie for.

He lost everyone's respect.

The legal drinking age in MD in 1982 was 18. It changed on July 1, 1982. If you were 18 before that date, perfectly legal. Drinking at 17 was not a big deal

Drinking as a 17 year old in Montgomery County in 1982 = no big deal
Lying about drinking illegally in 2018 as a SCOTUS nominee = no big deal if you are a republican.

Sitting on Dr. ford's information since July 9th-no big deal

I’ll wait.

they need to be very careful how they are throwing the words job interview around. There are certain things that can't be asked in job interviews, no matter what the level.

It depends on the job. Here is how the foreign service does it. This is a separate process from the security clearance. If any of these things had come up in a suitability review, he’d be out. https://fam.state.gov/fam/03fam/03fam2210.html

Same here. Now, I will leave an opening for myself, never save never, but for this election cycle I will put my money where my mouth is. Enough of this mockery!

I was a page at a Republican convention and an active member of Young Republicans. I will never vote for another GOP again! Ever.

This party doesn't care about America. If they did, they would have the decency to put this through a genuine investigation, to clear his name and keep the institution's integrity. These are criminal charges the women are bringing. You can't just put someone like that on the Supreme Court. A judge is supposed to stand for what's right in this country. This rush to confirm is extremely wrong in every way. They should know that, now that the American Bar Association and conservative lawyers like Dershowitz are calling for a FBI investigation.

Four GOP governors, too - Kasich, Hogan, Baker and Phil Scott of Vermont.

And the Jesuits.

Everyone I know would be, actually. We are well-mannered adults, experts in our fields, and got to the top not through wealthy white connections but through hard work and excellent social skills. Of course we'd do a better job. And some of us have been in extremely contentious, extremely high-stakes, situations, and been calm and dignified throughout.

This man is not worthy of the Supreme Court or any other top job.

We must claim out reward this election day and every one after that.

If we didn't know it after the "Men need to shut up," comment, we surely do now. I'm in utter disbelief that she is an attorney at all, much less that she is a Georgetown Law grad. Georgetown should renounce her.

What else?

Lying about the stolen memos

That devils triangle answer was very unconvincing. Seemed like he had anticipated the question so answer it too fast at first but then when pressed for details came up short.

Plus having played lots of drinking games in DC area in 1982, i never ever heard of that one.

But it is actually ridiculous to have to answer something that he put in a high school yearbook. When we were in high school we referenced all sorts of risqué stuff that we never did or never would do just to appear ‘cool’. We were stupid.

It show how GPrep was an unhealthy place at the time in that they appear to have encouraged and supported this kind of stupidity but it’s not really relevant today.
It’s relevant if he lied about it, I guess, but there’s no way of knowing if he did. But not really - all anyone is asking about is a whether a crude reference in a yearbook means what they think it means and that’s basically just idle gossip.

People don't really change. They don't. He was a douche then, he's a douche now. Gorsuch came up in the same school culture at the same time. The difference is that he had strong personal character and didn't get sucked into the toxic culture to be popular. I know which of the two is the right fit for a SCJ.

Anonymous wrote:I don't think he assaulted Ford. There a couple of reasons why:

1. The friend that she went to the party with does not support her story. If things happened the way that she said they did, her friend would have remembered that night. She left the party without talking to her friend. That friend would have been angry. Two girls at a house with 4 boys and one of them leaves without telling the other? That friend would have called her the next day asking what the heck happened. Also what kind of friend gets assaulted by two guys and leaves her friend in the house with the same two guys???

2. Her family is not supporting her. That is very telling.

For the cheap seats in the back:
1. It wasn’t a big deal for her friend because her friend wasn’t pinned down on the bed with a drunk future frat boy trying to talk off her suit.
2. It’s not telling at all. Lots of families don’t want to rock their social boat. Women generally aren’t believed, so why speak out and get themselves banished from the club?

So she leaves her friend alone at a house with two rapists? Wow. What a good friend. It is no wonder she has no friends in the area and her family doesn't support her.
I would be shocked if her friend would not have confronted her about leaving her alone in a house with 4 guys.

She has tons of friends in the area, dufous.

No she doesn't. Give it a rest. Anyone who speaks out against the GOP overthrow of our republic is quite sane.
