Democrats will fight ANY conservative pick.
Let's just be honest here.

Ford wrote her Congresswoman as soon as Kavanaugh was put on the short list, hoping her information would get through so they would pick someone else. This is about Kavanaugh. NOT about any conservative pick.

Precisely. And Ford's allegations aside, Kavanaugh has shown himself to be a biased, temperamental, political hack - ill suited to the job on the SCOTUS. This is a sham. Nothing more than nominating a political operative onto the court for life by the Trump administration.

Disgusting.

May this mark the fall of the GOP forever.

I don’t have a dog in this specific fight ... I just want to remove legal drinking age from your list.
First, he was never talking about himself. He had in mind older classmates. Go back and read it
Second, he never said he drank legally (I mean, one day at age 21 he did.). Many times he said/implied that he drank at age 17. He wasn’t trying to hide anything.

The legal drinking age in MD in 1982 was 18. It changed on July 1, 1982. If you were 18 before that date, perfectly legal. Drinking at 17 was not a big deal

Drinking as a 17 year old in Montgomery County in 1982 = no big deal
Lying about drinking illegally in 2018 as a SCOTUS nominee = no big deal if you are a republican.

Lying about the stolen memos

That devils triangle answer was very unconvincing. Seemed like he had anticipated the question so answer it too fast at first but then when pressed for details came up short.

Plus having played lots of drinking games in DC area in 1982, i never ever heard of that one.

But it is actually ridiculous to have to answer something that he put in a high school yearbook. When we were in high school we referenced all sorts of risqué stuff that we never did or never would do just to appear ‘cool’. We were stupid.

It show how GPrep was an unhealthy place at the time in that they appear to have encouraged and supported this kind of stupidity but it’s not really relevant today.
It’s relevant if he lied about it, I guess, but there’s no way of knowing if he did. But not really - all anyone is asking about is a whether a crude reference in a yearbook means what they think it means and that’s basically just idle gossip.

Would love to see how cool and collected you would be under the circumstances.

We saw Ford yesterday, the actual victim. She kept her cool. He couldn’t. Why?

I would beg for the FBI to investigate. I would want my name to be cleared.

Did you behave similar to Kavanaugh in your youth?

Excellent. He's listening to women of integrity, not the raging haters.

Ford is a raging hater? Not even Fox commentators would go there.

She scrubbed her online Pussy Hat March raging.

She’s entitled to her beliefs (especially since she shares them with a majority of the country).

One Kavanaugh takes his office none of us will be entitled to our beliefs. The GOP wants to install a theocracy / plutocracy and eliminate by any means necessary any opposition. It's a turning point and one we will never recover from. I fear that liberals, women, people of color, non-Christians - we are not safe in this country anymore.

Why would you expect a Mormon Senator from Arizona to not confirm?

Because he dislikes sexual assaulters?

Probably also not likely to be persuaded by/bond on “c’mon everyone drinks” arguments.

Wants to be President.

IDK what Flake will do. Probably flake, as usual. But there are reasons why he might decide a “no” vote is his best move.

He has more to lose. And more to lie for.

We're talking about selecting one of the 9 individuals to our nation's highest court for a lifetime position. Not some idiot on DCUM. If Kavanaugh is the best the GOP can find, that's embarrassing.

I pinched my nose and voted for a Democrat for the first time ever against Trump. While I will remain an Independent, I will never vote for a Republican again.
