Getting into St. Albans

Yes on off the charts testing (no shmoozing or donations though!). Yes on Beauvoir. Why would that matter?

Are you serious? You're bragging about getting into STA without shmoozing or donations? You got into STA the day you got accepted into Beauvoir!!!

Not true...Beauvoir kids don't automatically get into STA or NCS.

What sport are they making the kids play this year during the interview?

Good Lord, I wonder how many times people need to hear the information before it sinks in: it does not matter what sport they are playing. They are not being evaluated for their athletic ability.

It seems to me that if you think of it as "making the kids play" a sport, rather than giving the kids a chance to play, St. Albans may not be the place for your son. While STA is not evaluating on athletic ability, and they certainly have students who are more passionate about academics or art than about athletics, it might not be a comfortable place for a kid who actually dislikes sports.

Yes. My son (who's not the best athlete in the world, but loves to play) remarked that there was one kid during the game period who made it clear that he HATED sports. Probably not the right school for that kid.

True. But why so snippy. PP asked a simple question. If you know, and are willing to share, please do so.

Will the Republican exodus mean more spots open up at STA?
Anonymous
No, because they'll all stay in town and become highly paid lobbyists and association presidents.

At our visit, they did not have the boys play a sports game because of the construction.

I guess because I can't imagine what difference it would make to your ... preparation? ... in whether they were playing crab soccer or knee football this year.
