Why so much hate with EOTP vs WOTP parents

Just another reason to vote Trump! Sick of those EOTPs crowding our fine schools.

I bet the poster who wrote the above doesn't live WOTP but wants to make WOTPers look like jerks.

NP. This isn't a really productive comment and it just creates more division, so maybe you should stop with accusations like this. It's an anonymous forum, so I'm sure any idiot who actually just dislikes minorities will simply say so.

For most people, it's just a simple question of resources. If a school has capacity for 600 students, but it's stuffed with 750 because OOB students were managing to get enrolled via feeder routes, that's frustrating for everyone at the school. People who live in the neighborhoods adjacent to the school don't care what about the race of the 150 extra kids; they just want the numbers to come down.

No, all of us don't believe that to be true. I'm AA and I would not send my children to SP if I had a choice of any school WotP (except Hearst). I'm not interested in sending my children to high (by my standards) poverty schools. I love racial and cultural diversity, but I strongly prefer economic homogeneity (on the high end) in my children's school. I actively seek to avoid the social and academic distractions that children who come from impoverished backgrounds tend to bring into the classroom. Since this is an anonymous forum, I can be completely honest.

Wow...just, wow. The 4/26 23:51 poster wrote a very articulate, measured and on-point assessment of the types of schools high SES AAs choose and the reasons behind those choices. On the other hand, your response (both this one and your follow-up) were just obnoxious. I get that this is “your truth,” but that doesn’t make it any less distasteful. It was classism on full display. We live in Colonial Village and my husband grew of up in Shepherd Park. He and his sister were members of J&J. I know and am close friends with some super cool J&J moms and leaders. I also know that there are others who think—and talk-- like you. By posting your comments and identifying yourself as a member --even anonymously--you fully demonstrated what gives many "pause" about the organization.

In other words, you are fine with classism, but would rather folks hide that inconvenient fact?

Previous PP was honest. Great first step to solve any problem.

I'm not a member of J&J so I don't know what your point is. I have no dog in that fight. I acknowledged she was speaking her truth/opinion (not fact as you asserted) however, her comments were pure classism. If I were a member of J&J I'd be horrified.

While it has been very interesting to hear all about J&J, an organization about which I previously knew very little, it is pretty far outside the scope of this thread. Moreover, it appears that the OP was somewhat dishonest in the original post and, therefore, could be thought to have been trolling. So, I'm going to lock this thread.
