The former happened on at least one team. It was a team that was already weakened by a few defections to Bethesda South, the year before the VPL move. Then they moved to VPL and lost some players whose parents didn't want to drive to Richmond for league games. Double whammy. Now they'll lose players who don't want to get pummeled in all their league games. Best bet would be just removing the VYS team from that age group and letting another club take that team's spot. I *think* that's legal, but I'm not sure. |
It's a cycle: defections to other clubs = weakened teams = players losing badly in NPL after long drives = more players leaving mid-season or following season. Only way to break cycle is to stem defections or pull out of NPL. |
have they gotten any coaches for these teams they left high and dry? |
How many coaches were let go? |
Yup! Its like taking hostages. If you want out it is at a loss off all fees! |
Yes! Everything that has been the "norm" as far as organization and quality was continued to be advertised as though it would be seamless after the big changes... you bite, and give the new organization the benefit of the doubt and you write the check... then they pull the rug out from under you! No coach or quality program that you had been used to and promised. Not cool. Not cool at all. When the changes are this significant, it is NOT good business to hold families hostage in this dysfunction. |
Another bitter pill to swallow was the way they slid in additional fees for winter! It is one decietful move after another. Makes one wonder if theres not some substance in the earlier posts. |
Here is simple way to look at this?
VSA hired a new technical director at the same time VYS did? What are the differences between the two clubs from last year to now? I can assure you the quality of coaching and number of players at VSA is by far better than Vienna. Thanks to Mike Allen, Ryan Phair, Margareet Carefoot and the rest of the board. Every other club has benefited of their decision to replace Eddie with Richard Gunny. |
So you know how the board voted? |
For those just joining us, let's recap who we have in this thread (and who we had in the other thread):
- Some people with legitimate complaints about VYS - 1-2 former board members or former employees who are slandering people they blame (incorrectly, in several cases) for their fates. - Someone who still holds some grudge against Eddie Lima. The latter two categories simply aren't worth our time any more. What's past is past. The whole truth isn't on this thread and never will be -- because some people still choose to be professional and decent. The present is very much worth discussing. |
If they were professional and decent, the deleted statements wouldnt have merit. And well.... they hit the nail right on the head! |
Word on the ole VYS bod statements, UNANYMOUS.... righttttttttt |
There were multiple factual errors as well as some things simply out of bounds. So I reported it. And I'm done talking about any of that. |
Yeah! And all that hand over fist $$$ that the board claimed Lima was pocketing.... now, that that great board stopped all that, where exactly is all that money going now? Oh yeah, down the tubes with the entire club! Way to go you "professional, decent" incompetent BOD!!!! WAY TO TOTALLY SCREW OUR CLUB!! |
I truly don't understand any of this. My son is on one of the top olderVienna teams. The coach is excellent, team spirit great, ok maybe they didn't win every game but the boys have a great time together and have really developed well under their coach. I am from Europe and have seen many styles/levels. I am not sure what most of the people here are complaining about. My kid and all the kids I have seen in years of playing here and at home aren't going to be making the premier league but they are fit and happy and being well coached. Have we just had an exceptional experience?! I don't care how the organisation is run or whatever so long as my kid is happy and developing his skills and abilities and also teamwork!! I don't feel that the changes have had any effect on all that. |
