Also, not really a restaurant, but I miss Eatzi's! The breakfast burrito with egg, potato, bacon, salsa, and did I mention bacon, was to die for!

Pizza Delight in Springfield Mall (closed because the owners were laundering cocaine money)...Nan King which closed in the late 90's after being the oldest Chinese restaurant in DC (it was opened in the 1890's).... Annies in Georgetown. Vesuvio Pizza in Dupont. The Original Stoney's at 13th and L. Addas ababi in Adams Morgan. China Doll in chinatown. Generous Georges.

Apparently Pines of Rome in Bethesda is going to close but the owner has not disclosed a date.

Eating outside under the grape arbor in summer or inside in the horse stalls at the Iron Gate Inn. (Although I think the food's likely to be better whenever it re-opens.) Louisiana Express in Bethesda opposite the car dealership. Reaching way back, the old Hogates on the waterfront.

the vegetarian place on conn north of dupont was food for thought. back in the day, it was the place to find out about rallies, protests, group houses and hear live music and eat black bean soup.

Louisiana Kitchen on Cordell Ave has Jose in the kitchen who was the chef for 20 years at Louisiana Express.
