College and University Discussion
Agree - which is why I’d never hire a Yale or Yale Law School graduate, not to mention Stanford Law, Oberlin, Reed, etc. Hard pass on all of them. DP |
The students and alumni of these schools routinely defend the rioting and violence that their leftist students engage in, so not sure where you’re going with that. DP |

I think that a person seeking a liberal arts education would do better at Hillsdale than at most top universities or LACs. They've retained the sort of curriculum that other colleges have abandoned.
But if you're wondering whether a Hillsdale degree might be taken against you, just read the responses in this thread. A lot of people are really hostile toward Hillsdale. And even if they're wrong, they still do a lot of hiring. |
You must be new to the college forum. Parents sending their kids to SLACS care a lot about outcomes and prestige. That’s kind of the point of a SLAC: law school, med school, PhDs. Politics aside, Hillsdale grads aren’t being hired by good companies because their degree is mid. Hillsdale’s most popular majors are English, history and bio. Are they just graduating a bunch of public school teachers? Because Hillsdale students aren’t going onto higher ed like a normal SLAC. Don’t like the PhD metric? Let’s do medical school where schools like Wesleyan, Wellesley and Oberlin are all feeders. https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-medical-school/ Hillsdale is not the other end of the political spectrum of the schools listed. It doesn’t create good outcomes outside of their right wing bubble. |
Loser-ism.

Link to students and alumni “defending violence”.

And you assume this from reading comments on an anonymous mommy blog? |
I think it works both ways. I spoke with a CEO of a fortune 500 company who said this school was the BEST school in his opinion - which means he probably doesn't think much of my kids HPY. |
Please give an example of what Hillsdale has retained in their curriculum that other colleges have not. Are you actually familiar with college curricula? |
Liar. |
|
Or they could just go to St Johns in Maryland, or Hampton Sydney in Virginia, or Washington and Lee, or Davidson or a host of other smaller liberal arts colleges which are not particularly liberal. |
They actually teach the canon instead of woke stuff. |
Please give an actual example. Not just you talking out of your ass. |

As Scott Pelley has just found out, resistance to the MAGA program is hazardous to one's job prospects in America today.
A Hillsdale degree, by signaling one's unwavering fealty to the Orange Emperor, is therefore an increasingly valuable credential in today's job market. By contrast, schools like Reed and Oberlin will guarantee a lifetime of unemployment and privation, if not a one way trip to Gitmo. |
