Would a Hillsdale graduate have reduced professional opportunities?

No, Florida and Alabama aren't remotely like Hillsdale.

Because of one our foolish folks in management, we hire an intern or two every summer from Hillsdale. They are TERRIBLE (except for one who was pretty talented). They simply cannot think deeply about anything. No analysis skills. Not able to write a paper that makes logical sense. Their reasoning is paper thin.

Big state schools like Florida/Alabama have lots of talented people in them. Especially Florida. UF has rigorous programs in science, medicine, business and engineering.

I don’t think it is in the same universe as Notre Dame. Notre Dame is a great school and very selective. It isn’t my cup of tea but I vote it positively. Hillsdale has chosen to be ultra polarizing and was still accepting applications a couple weeks ago (my kid was getting emails asking him to apply).

It’s a good place to go if he wants to spend his life in far right politics. If he’s not sure that’s his path then no.

+1 I doubt it will be helpful for job placement outside of politics or Christian organizations.

Oh please. There’s a world of difference between ND and Liberty and Hillsdale. Troll.

Anecdata.

Which is fine. OP isn’t asking for a STATA analysis.

Keep Notre Dame out of your willsmithin' mouth

Employers are looking for candidates who can read, speak, and write well. A Hillsdale degree would not be a hindrance in that case.

True statement in the 1980's.

Not a true statement today.

Sort of like most of the women's colleges in the Northeast, for example, or schools like Oberlin?

You mean people who can read and think critically? Yes, I can see why Hillsdale is a problem.

Nope...Notre Dame is treated closer to Georgetown or Holy Cross or Boston College. Hillsdale is treated closer to Liberty and Oral Robert. Equating UND and Liberty is just wrong.

It's like Scientology. Lots of Hillsdale / Heritage Kool Aid swillers in DC.

Yes. Run the other way.

ND, a top 20 university, is not remotely akin to Libery or Hillsdale.

Notre Dame is light years above Hillsdale and Liberty.
