Would a Hillsdale graduate have reduced professional opportunities?

How’s that wall coming along?

Let me help you out a little. The equivalent would be if the the wall didn’t get built, & every day for 4 years we were shown video of the border with no wall. And we STILL claimed that anybody who believed there was no wall was a psycho who was creating fake videos.

What misleading videos did FoxNews play during Biden's term? Please share the misinformation that you consumed.

Did GWB have an "open border"? Because Biden's policies were much stricter than W's.

GWB was terrible on the border. Even Reagan wasn't great. Trump, whatever else you might think about him, is the only president in my lifetime who has genuinely cracked down.

That's verifiably false. Obama was the only president to really crack down on illegal immigration and increase border security.. He eased up deportations only at the behest of states who claimed that he was impacting the segments of their economies that run on immigrant labor. Border crossings were reduced to historic levels under Obama, and deportations increased to historic levels. In particular, the ratio of criminals to regular illegals deported was high. None of these things are true under Trump.

Do not go to Hillsdale. As a native Michigander Hillsdale is notorious for attracting really weird people. Especially the ones who travel across the country for its "traditional" experience.
Attending Hillsdale in 2026 is a signal to employers that you are so ingrained in the culture war that you cannot stand to attend a college with any diversity of opinion that doesn't fit within your worldview.

It does not because the devil is in the details. You might want to learn before you type.

Are all of these ignorant comments coming from the same person? Suspiciously repetitive.

Never heard RWNJs complaining about "open borders" under W.

What is it that you think happened under Biden? What were these videos that you saw on FoxNews that makes you think the borders were "open"?

Yup. Yet another example of Trump's massive lies.

It’s not evangelical. The people saying that have no idea what they’re talking about. Hillsdale is welcoming to all religions. This is not a Liberty.

Equating Hillsdale or Liberty to Notre Dame seems uninformed, if not provocative.

Notre Dame is a Top 25 university that has broad recognition as such, along with one of the largest, most engaged, most influential alumni networks in the U.S. and across the globe.

Hillsdale and Liberty are indoctrination centers that happen to have a campus.

Like Oberlin or Bard or Hampshire or Reed, eh?

They may be too liberal for your tastes but academia recognizes Oberlin and Reed as excellent schools. They both regularly show up on lists of PhD feeder schools. The list also contains many other SLACs. What isn’t a surprise is that Hillsdale is never on these lists.

DP. You may want to sit down for this. USNWR National Liberal Arts College rankings:

Hillsdale #50
Oberlin #58
Reed #63

Classic striver comment. USNWR has been a joke since they changed the criteria. Yale and Harvard Law formally withdrew from reporting in 2022. I’m much more interested in where my kid goes to grad school. And Hillsdale will get them nowhere.

Tell us you're ignorant without actually telling us.

Your link proves my point perfectly - it’s utterly unimpressive. Especially since Hillsdale’s top majors include biology, history and English (majors which regularly lead to PhD programs).

Hillsdale didn’t break the top 100 for PhD feeder schools. Schools that made the list of PhD feeders? Reed, Oberlin, Bard, Hampshire and a school called…Tougaloo College. lol.

DP. It’s utterly bizarre that you care so much about which schools produce the most PhDs. Why? That’s not even a factor for most people when choosing a school and it’s certainly not what we’re discussing here. Who cares?

The writings by current professors were absolutely unhinged. If people are familiar with it and it didn’t aligned with their politics, I think they would think twice about a hiring someone from there, especially if the hiring manager was a women because what I read was not even veiled misogyny as well as many other fringe views. It might open some doors very conservative think tanks if that’s your jam, but if you are a mainstream conservative, I’d avoid this place like the plague.

We receive Imprimus (Hillsdale's publication) and I have no idea what you're talking about. I've read some very interesting pieces and not one has been anything close to what you describe. Are you talking about Imprimus? Please link to an example of "misogyny" or "fringe views" in their publications.

I couldn’t find what poster was talking about and was curious so did done digging. This article basically defends Jan 6, so I agree with fringe views assessment: https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/what-we-know-and-what-we-dont-about-january-6/

What are you talking about?? It does no such thing. What it DOES do is lay out the facts of that day, something the left wants to ignore. Yes, there was a group of thugs who forced their way into the Capitol. All of the other protesters were there peacefully and did not participate. There is nothing wrong with peaceful protesting, as the left continues to tell us, amirite? At any rate, this article isn’t defending anyone who broke into the Capitol. Stop lying.

It’s genuinely sad to see how MAGA has destroyed a formerly respected, conservative college. These posts are insane and I wonder if posters even have a connection to the school or just want to spout their MAGA BS.

Regardless, Hillsdale is on a downward slope for education. I’m guessing that they aren’t attracting talent like they used to. Why in the world would you go there when there are a lot of better conservative colleges with better outcomes and less indoctrination? For OP (if they aren’t a troll) - Furman, Wofford, BYU, Baylor, TCU, Washington and Lee, Auburn, High Point, Wheaton College (IL),

Jan 6 lol - the default talking point...as if the colleges listed as elite by leftists here haven't seen their share of violence, rioting and mayhem

Right?? Spot on.
