When I do "The Johns Hopkins University" and "Emory University" I get 29 for Hopkins and 177 for Emory. Both numbers are likely off, thats why I leave it to the experts that already did the in depth analysis. https://www.peakframeworks.com/post/ib-target-schools Stop trying to over look it to do your backyard calculations. |
this convo is getting tiresome and it’s clear you cant do proper analysis which is not surprising. |
Bio and chem is premed. And they dont have engineering... Biostats ranked 5 by usnews Clinical psychology #8 Environmental science #5 Bio physics #10 Physical therapy #4 Physician Assistant #8 Why is jhu mba unranked? |
Same DP. I think EMory is strong in many of the above. But Emory is behind in engineering and social sciences. |
this is going to be embarrassing for emory |

Let's compare the schools and see the differences: Engineering: #13 JHU vs Emory Unranked Nursing: #2 JHU vs Emory #1 Biology: #6 JHU vs Emory #25 Economics: #20 JHU vs Emory #52 Biostats: #1 JHU vs #11 Biostats Chemistry: #20 JHU #34 Emory English: #8 JHU vs #34 Emory History: #10 JHU vs #25 Emory Physics: #13 JHU vs #55 Emory Math: #20 JHU vs #51 Emory Public Health: #1 JHU vs Emory #2 Nice try punching up though. |
| JHU and Emory are about the same reputation to most people. |
DP. Nobody in the real world cares about these stats. |
Outside engineering and social sciences circles, true. |
ranking, peer assessment score, selectivity, yield etc etc all say otherwise but the coolaid is strong in atlanta |
GA residents should utilize their two top public options. Excellent value. |
Agreed. Much better value. |
If they can get into GA Tech or UGA. Not everyone can. |
The current rankings are based on things that have no benefit to many students. Is lifting first-get students into social mobility a worthy goal, sure. But it says nothing about the quality of education at a university. And in fact, could negatively impact the education provided to all students. |
If they can get into Emory they likely can. The publics are way better bang for the buck. |
