If you have the $$ saved, you let your kid pick best fit and pay whatever the bill is. But if you don't have the $$, then even H, D, S are not worth it IMO. Go somewhere that is affordable and you can shine (smaller school/state school honors program, etc) and don't put yourself into debt |
+1 My kid got $42K/year at Case (a few years ago), but chose a "similar school" for $85-90K/year. They know 99% of kids wouldn't have a choice and would be attending Case. But we let them choose the better fit for them, they are thriving and it was the right choice. But we have it saved and it's NBD to us. |
This is what we did with our DS, we have the money (barely) and he picked the school that he considered his best fit. Hopefully, it works out, but I would worry about it wherever he went. |
well the OP asked about "worth the investment". and now I dont think these schools ranked after T20 is worth 400k + |
Sure idiot, I'll help you. It says it right there on the colored bars under GPA converted. For 2025 62.52% or 859 students had between a 3.75-3.99 UW gpa. 13.61% or 187 students had a 4.0. 62.52+ 13.61 is 76.13%. And if you scroll all the way down to the end of the chart it literally says the the avg gpa is a 3.83. https://provost.emory.edu/planning-administration/data/factbook/admissions.html Anyone that beileves a T25 would have 65% of students less than an A avg is slow, or needs to be sued for purposeful slander. |
😂😂😂😂😂😂 |
Kid at HYSP was complaining she could not get classes and she had to live with two others in a double room. Meanwhile, she was interviewed by the school and said how amazing it was. I’ll never believe the marketing. 😆😆 My own big public kid had an advisor sign her up for classes so she had everything she needed. Professors are easy to talk to. But we do not need to assume a big school is worse, do we? I do not assume a small school is worse because it has fewer resources, fewer opportunities and just…less of everything. 😘😜 |
Are you a god damn idiot? I knew emory was full of them but this is next level. https://provost.emory.edu/planning-administration/data/factbook/admissions.html From your link: Fall 2025 Profile 4.00 16.7% 3.75 - 3.99 20.7% 100% - 37% = 63% with a 3.74 and below. The only slander here is you thinking you're good at math. |
|
Given the mismatch between the barcharts and the table underneath, I wonder if emory is falsifying GPAs like test scores like their past scandal:

You don’t get it. We are so rich that 400k is nbd. |
| What's the Emory GPA of its junior college (Oxford)? Its marketing piece doesn't mention that stat? For the marketing piece for the class of 2029, the GPA of 3.83 is forADMITTED students. Not enrolled. Enrolled freshman statistics will always be lower, be it for GPA or SAT. |
| First have your kid apply to Emory. See if they’re admitted to the Oxford campus. Then you can question the qualifications of the Students. |
| This Emory booster is one touchy soul. |
chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://provost.emory.edu/planning-administration/_includes/documents/sections/institutional-data/emory-common-data-set-2024-2025.pdf The back and forth is ridiculous. 4.0- 17.4% 3.75-3.99- 58.38% 3.5-3.74- 21.24% avg 3.84 Straight from the CDS from last year. This year clearly won't be much different. |
Wake, Tulane, and BC are very well regarded institutions. Many colleges are. I don't get the childish urge to sneer at different colleges. And that's not meant as an insult to children because even they don't do that. |
