“Showcasing” is mostly over at u19. Usually uncommitted players get the priority at that age. Many of those players will probably go to college in January as well.

U19 is unique. DD’s ECNL team has 26.

If MLSN stays BY they won't participate in SY tournaments and with friendlies they'd likely force the ECNL team to play up. Basically ECNL would get locked out from playing against MLSN teams. I think both ECNL and MLSN clubs would seek competition opportunities for their players. These would be friendlies so I don't think there would be too much worry about a few players being a couple months older. There are two tourneys this fall that have both leagues: Copa Rayados and Best of the East.

Why is it everyone on here always says the clubs are only in it for the money, but then they close their eyes and make arguments like this. Of course tournaments will allow BY in SY tournaments and vice versa. Teams routinely play up a year or two in tournaments. You think BY/SY is going to be an impediment, or they will give up that glorious money???

Clubs generally wont go out of their way to play against older teams when rankings are on the line. Which is why I said if some were BY and others were SY that theyd just stop attending each others events.

They'd probably still do friendlies.

Clubs aren't league based, they have multiple leagues they are in. And the bulk of leagues declared SY so with over 95 percent of teamscin a club SY even if they have a few top teams in MLSN, tournaments would be SY. The tournament issue is a non issue.
