Why does Gen Z hate Trump so much?

They’re not going to be better off under Trump. Middle class jobs are being replaced by AI, education is being gutted, and women don’t want to date crude misogynists (voluntarily).

💯 this.

Wow this really adds so much to the discussion. Thanks so much.

Smart family, clearly!

This is in line with what my kids are seeing on social media. During the election, they were saying that people would not vote for Harris because of how they thought she would handle the war in Gaza. How they missed the fact that Trump would be 1000 times worse for Gaza is beyond me. But it was their single issue that drove their vote/non-vote. Now they regret it.

They also REALLY hate the two party system and hold out hope that withholding their vote or voting third party will lead to its demise. I think we need to guide them in gradually working toward getting rid of it, starting at the local level. It is simply not going to happen in a presidential election until it works its way up over the course of many years and election cycles. They don’t understand this because we have created a world for them where everything is instantaneous. I doubt we could ever get rid of the two party system, but who knows. They deserve the right to try.

It makes me incredibly sad that anyone under the age of 20 does not know life without Trump’s chaos and hatred. Things were good. You could go several days without thinking or hearing about the president. DC was a beautiful place to visit and didn’t have all the tall fences and barriers to make it look like a war zone. Politicians at least tried to show some semblance of decency and respect toward one another.

I don’t think they hate him enough judging by voting records. I was shocked they liked him at all. I am also shocked anyone likes him. He is a heinous individual and appalling President. This post is like saying ‘why do people dislike oil spills so much?’

because everyone hates him, even his own family. I mean, he doesn’t even like himself.

Because he hates people.

Because he wants to destroy everything before he dies. He’s jealous that people will still be alive after he dies and he wants to proactively make life as bad as possible before he dies.

All of these posts are a reflection of the liberal bubble most people here have chosen to self sort themselves into. Gen Z males of all races and colors are keenly aware that the Democrats aren’t working with their best interest in mind. Party leadership obviously realizes it because they’re paying millions for consultants to teach them how to relate to young males.

Democrats are for she/her/they/them.

I don’t know what pronouns has to do with politics. Again, everything you don’t like doesn’t have to become a (literal) federal issue that you run to Daddy Trump to fix.

As a democrat with a young adult son, I am glad that the democrats are putting a lot of effort into understanding them. Men are not expected to be the providers and protectors anymore, which is a good thing. But it is an adjustment, and they are struggling to find their place in society. I hope the democrats will figure out something that will resonate with them.

He is also jealous of Hitler because people are still talking about him almost 100 years later. Is there anyone in history who is talked about as much as Hitler? This is what Trump wants, one way or another.

The way out of the two party system is simple but hard to keep people focused on:

a) Ranked choice voting
b) mandatory publicly financed campaigns (no private money allowed)

Start with these two things and the rest will come.

Not at my son’s school and summer camp. Many of the kids who supported him last fall now hate him. Mainly because of the tariffs and DOGE.

Summer Camp? Are they old enough to vote

I know. It's infuriating that basic changes like these can't be made. Wish Gen Z would focus on them.
